Nothing against people whos orders have been dispatched, but I really think they should deal with the orders in the time order that they were made.
It seems wrong to me to dispatch an order made at 6am, before one made at 3am

I agree, it should be first come, first served definately. Also, like Hayhay says, they surely cannot put this down to stock issues as most items are online still at full price!!

Normally I would agree wholeheartedly, but in the fiasco that was (and still is) the online Boots sale some people were trying and getting right through to checkout and then the site would fail. As I said at the time, well done to those who were in the right bit of cyberspace at the right time, but just because someone got an order accepted later in the day doesn't mean someone else wasn't trying damn hard at just after 3am in the morning and not getting their order processed until even later. Some people got up, logged on in the morning and ordered within an hour (I remember reading a couple of posts like that). Others, like me, had been up all night (and refreshing the site since before midnight). My order didn't go through until 1:36pm. The stuff was in my basket all night and I just wasn't lucky enough to hit the payment screen at the miniscule moments it was working until 1:36pm. So as I said, normally I would agree wholeheartedly that Boots should honour in order of time the orders were placed - but in this fiasco even that doesn't seem fair to me.

If Boots were to be completely fair they should be able to track which accounts were registering activity and trying to purchase - but realistically this is not going to happen (don't even know if it could be done).

I can't see the logic in how Boots are actually dealing with the orders that were, or people believed were placed. I can only assume that they are honouring the ones where the payment process actually completed. I do feel for everyone involved in this fiasco (and that includes the poor Boots Customer Service team who must be dreading going into work each day at the moment).

I would like to think that Boots will learn from this experience, but I very much doubt it.
  • I totally agree that this has not been at all fair on anyone, including the cs. Boots have just made a huge mess of this and unfortunately I think alot of people probably wont bother again next year. The thing is, we want the bargains and they need the sales so who quits first? I haven't given up hope just yet though, lol!

  • i really wish i hadn't shown my kids what i had bought from boots.com now in case it doesn't turn up. i placed my order quite quickly after the sale started and it is now showing as processing, expected delivery date is monday. It isn't the end of the world if it doesn't turn up but just disappointing.

when i ordered i thought that it was strange that things didn't keep disappearing out of my basket when i checked out, like it did last year, that must have been down to the problems people had ordering this year.

What time did u get your confirmation email from boots??
  • Does anybody know if the fragrance gift sets are going to be reduced further in store??

  • I was very lucky and managed to place an on-line order at 08.54am on Wednesday. It was slow, but I got no errors. It was showing as being processed all day yesterday with expected delivery as 19th. After reading the posts I thought I'd get up today and find it had been cancelled, but instead I got an e-mail at 23.50 last night saying my order has been despatched in full and is at the sorting centre with HDNL (that might not be the end of my problems as last time they had a delivery for me the track and trace showed delivery attempts that were porky pies!).

I'm not having much luck with my internet sales ordering - only one item from my Next order has arrived (except it wasn't what the invoice note said or indeed anything I'd actually ordered) and my Monsoon order is being refunded piece by piece.

Fingers crossed the other Boots orders being 'processed' will be 'despatched' as the website's still suffering temporary(!) issues. Just thought I'd give you a bit of hope!

Hi, I managed to order a Polly Pocket playset and Barbie set at 75% off and a sugababes 4gb sony usb stick (not in sale, but great price at £4.99) before the site crashed. I have just seen an email saying it has been dispatched and is due today. I went into the Watford store and got some items for family birthdays. Also was given 2x £5 off millie and ruby or no 7 voucher and got 2 max/millie lip liners and no 7 eye compact for free (not in sale section, but in reduced bit near n0 7 counter). Apparently these vouchers are 1 per transaction over £5 spent, so it may be worth splitting up transactions to get more of these. Also when spending the vouchers on no 7 products you need to split transactions as these are one per transaction.

I was lucky and managed to get an order through at 8.06 on Wednesday but it has been stuck on your order is being processed ever since. Just rung customer services expecting them to tell me that my order had been cancelled and they informed me that there is nothing untoward with my order but that it is still in the warehouse. She told me that my order should be despatched by this evening so fingers crossed. I was informed that they are not necessarily processing the orders in order of time placed.
  • I placed my order at 3.24am wedneday, order 'still processing' at present and delivery also due 19th so it sounds like there are quite alot of us waiting with the same delivery date. Let's hope we all get lucky!!!
