You said this happens a lot. I asked you to prove it. You haven't.
  • Hi,

I have 3 cats and 2 have only just started trying to share my DD's cot, she's 21 months old now, but they wake her up jumping in so we are straight there to evict the offender. They do sleep in her cot during the day, when DD was first born we covered her cot with a sheet to stop too much cat hair getting on it.

When she was tiny they wouldn't go near her.

One of the cats is using her as a hot water bottle as she's just had an op to amputate a cancerous tail so is a bit bald. The other one just likes to be comfy. We just shut the bedroom door.
Proud to be dealing with my debts
    DD Katie born April 2007!
3 years 9 months and proud of it

I wouldnt be to worried about it suffocating the baby as many have already said its very rare but i would worry about it jumping in and scratching her/him.

Myself ive never owned a cat and never would! hate the things ever since one sneaked into my house and sprayed all of my new baby items which i had all ready for the arrival. With my hormones at the time its lucky it got away before i could get my hands on it.

You disgust me, how dare you make fun of someones tragic loss, how would you feel if I were to make a derogatory comment about something that had happened to you or someone close to you? You really are a disgusting individual.
I have done no such thing.

You need to calm down a bit.

I have a beautiful fluffy female 7 year old cat, who has been brought up with all 3 of my children, from the time when my daughter was 2 the cat used to make a beeline for her, to curl up on.

Most nights the cat is asleep with my little girl in her bed, i know this sounds crazy, but i'm sure they share a very special bond.

i think children and cats can live together very happily, and i think it teaches children to love, care and respect all animals, not just their own pets.

I think you are right in that animals and children can share a bond. I have often felt that when I see my Granddaughters with the animals. :)

Maybe I shouldn't have said alot because maybe it is quite rare, but it does happen and you shouldn't bury your heads in the sand over this, if you saw first hand the distress something like this brings to a family you really would not mock people.

The thing is that all kinds of things can happen as a rarity, you implied it happened regularly and then couldn;t back that up. Scaremongering is neither nice nor helpful.
