CCFC I hope really hope you get your telly as you have been posting to this thread since before I got my Toshiba, which seems an age ago now.
  • Reet - here goes,

i am all set to join you with an LCD purchase on 2nd , via quidco and then the 25% discount code

    BUT

I visited John Lewis in Peterborough today to compare the

    SAMSUNG LE32R41B.
    and
    SONY Model KDL - S32A12U

Amazingly they are actually next to each other in the store so it is not too difficult to do a comparison and i really prefer the Sony, the actually tele itself just looks sleeker with cleaner lines and th epicture quality (lose up and 1.5 metres away) just seem superior

I made an old lady in there very happy as she was deliberating over the two models and i told her about Freemans and she said "yes but you get a FREE 5 year guarantee in John Lewis"

I then pointed out (just using teh 25% discount) that

    SAMSUNG LE32R41B. JL price £999 Freemans £675

SONY Model KDL - S32A12U JL Price £1399 Freemans £825

The "FREE" five year guarantee appers to "cost" £324 for the Sammy and £574 for the Sony, She went off to call Freemans

BUT my reason for posting? , Whaddy athink of the SONY is it worth the extra?

I've decided to try for a 26". Would be nice to get a HDTV for the spare room to play the 360 on. Figure the pricing goes something like this:

    £600 - 25% (code) = £450
    £450 - 5% (quidco) = £427.50
    £427.50 - 1% (Egg money) = 423.23

That's got to be a good deal. Not going to hold my breath though. I'm sure they have already put things in place to wriggle outof the 25% code....

just put in my order via quid co for the Sony 32" using the 25% discount code.

called Freemans before doing so and they said del should be 6-7 days...only worrying thing is that my confirmation email shows full price!!

emailed freemans and waiting for response wrt this

oh yeah also used MS credit card (2% cash back)...so hopefully if all goes according to plan, tv should come in at just under £770...not bad for a 32" Bravia

Not a bad price at all. Unfortunately I do not have a Morgan Stanley card but every 1% helps when you're buying something big! Let us know the response from Freemans. Thanks.

I have had my tv taken away just now, it has got no less than 13 dead pixels on it. I have had this tv since last October.

The chaps I assumed that didnt actually come from Samsung although do repairs for Samsung said they have had no end of problems with these.

I am only saying what they told me, they took it away to fit a new flat panel in.

I would not worry that the discount is not shown on your email , see excerpt below pulled from Freemans website , you could ring customer services (number below) to find out really quick though

    Your answer
Are discounts shown on online orders?
Any discounts applicable to your order do not currently show on your email confirmation or delivery note. They will however, be displayed on your monthly statement. If you have any questions about your order, please contact Customer Services on 08706 066 099.

Getting mine sorted out myself. Payment was taken from my card on 20th Feb....Freemans Customer Service weren't even aware of this. They had no record of a despatch, no consignment number, and told me to ring again on 4th March. Totally bloomin' useless if you have a Cus. Service who can't answer any of the questions that a customer might want to ask !

Amtrak are the couriers. If you go to their website, pick your local depot by postcode search and ring them (saynoto0870), they will do a Name/ Postcode search for you and tell you if the TV is in their system.
Mine was on it's way BACK to Freemans after they had trouble finding my address....and Freemans hadn't given them my phone number to ring me (so much for the pre-delivery call that Freemans promised but nobody seems to have received. Explains why all deliveries have been 'unannounced' !!).
My TV has been recalled and is being delivered to me tomorrow morning, and they now have my telephone numbers and full address details to call me in the morning.
Amtrak have been really really helpful, and they're extremely annoyed that Freemans haven't passed on consignment numbers for customers to track their deliveries online, because it's causing them hassle not having anybody's telephone numbers when people are out when they try and deliver out of the blue!!!
