With the seat help - would you be able to request aisle seats? I love the theatre but couldn't cope being mid-row

  • There is no such thing as a disabled register now, however as already said a copy of DLA letter will be fine for most places

Whichever theatre you are thinking of visiting or cinema for that matter it's best to call first, many have a dedicated disabled visitor line, then they will help you with your seating needs etc.

That would be amazing, I think I'll keep my £60 in reserve to see if it's possible :)

  • At my local theatre I just showed my disabled bus pass as proof. A thirty pound ticket was then mine for just £5 (front row seats) and I was allowed to take a carer for free, so my friend and I effectively went for £2.50 each. They also put my details into their computer so I am registered as a disabled customer from now on, and I recieve a regular newsletter of shows offering concessions.
  • We're going on Wednesday 28th for the matinee so I'll report back after.
BTW the T-shirts from the weblink look naff so I may have a bit of change from my £60 after all (although my CA £60 is yet to arrive so c'est la vie!)
  • Reporting back as promised. We did go yesterday, flashed Mum's blue badge and got two £60 seats (top price) for the £25 rate each - row F centre block - so close!!! Then before the performance we went back into Victoria station and upstairs to Cafe Rouge. True moneysaving - with the £10 off voucher. For a large glass of red (Mum) a double Absolut (me) and two of the cheesy mushroom starters it came to £19.55 so paid £9.55 = basically food was free! The waiter tried to insist it couldn't be used as "You only had starters" but the voucher did say off food - not specifically main courses so I took my money off him and started to walk out - he quickly decided something was better than nothing.
Mum kept saying what a lovely day she had and she was far more alert and fun and (dare I say it) like her old self while away from home - which bodes well for our "holiday of a lifetime" touring Canada in April, but it has caught up with her today and she's needed the GP to give her the sickness jab and is now curled up in bed, but we had a great day, great show (though some of the references would be wasted if you didn't know the story of the Wizard of Oz - but then who hasn't seen the film nighty-five times) and really friendly theatre staff made a pleasant change.
  • We went to see Wicked last year for my birthday. We booked thru See Tickets the day before the performance, and as I requested wheelchair space plus carer, we paid £15 each!! And the show is amazing!! You'll love it!
  • Thanks but you're a bit behind - read the last post, we've been!!!
  • Actually, does anyone know of any other West end musicals running a similar scheme?
