With our £60 bonuses (although mine as CA still not come through) want to take Mum to London to the Wednesday matinee of the show "Wicked". The website states best available tickets on the day for special rate for certain groups including "certified disabled."
Has anyone any experience of this. Mum is on higher rate DLA but the only "certificate" we have is the DWP letter informing us of the results of her DLA application. Will that suffice?
PS If anynoe knows how much a programme or a T-shirt costs from "Wicked" I'd be grateful!

You could call the Apollo Victoria theatre Access line on 020 7828 7074 and ask them.
According to the website t-shirts are £17, programmes are £8:

I would think her letter of conformation of DLA would be fine. If I've gone anywhere that has a concession for the disabled I take my letter of conformation.
If you want to be sure give them a ring.0

            Hello HGLTsuperstar!
What a fantastic idea for your £60.
It's a bonus, and I'm sure you will have more pleasure than paying a bill with it!
Like has been suggested, I just use a copy of my daughter's award notice.
Just to mention, are you aware that there is a cinema card, that entitles the carer to go free,

 Hope you enjoy your trip,

I've been able to get concessions with other London theatres.
All you have to do is phone them up and explain you are registered disabled and they not only can get concessions but they explain the seating for you and find the most suitable seating that you require.
They do always ask on which day you want to go, because this will determine as to if all the concessions and seats have been used up for that performance, so you will need to give them specific dates for them to check it all out for you.
I did try for tickets for going to see Wicked and found that the theatre is not very wheelchair friendly so I guess it depends on your needs as to wether the theatre is a suitable one for you.
 Hope that helps.0

You're DLA letter does the trick if they want any proof or Blue badge either a photocopy or the real thing I've used it for theme park and theatre.
 Go and enjoy!0

Hee. I love Wicked, though I am not a great fan of Kerry Ellis as Elphaba. I was the very first girl to go to the performance painted green...

Hey there, we go to the theatre and the O2 arena quite a lot and always get a reduced or even free carer entry and you don't even have to be in a wheelchair as long as you're on DLA that's proof enough your disabled. Most places don't ask for proof because if you have your tickets in hand they believe you. Good luck with this. 0 0

            Thanks TaBunny!
Costs about a fiver, but you can recoup that on your first visit.
Lasts 3 years, so at least you get you moneys worth.
