Web hosting advice

Hi, I also posted this on small biz but it's dead on there....
We have a couple of sites that we need to find hosting for. One is my hobby site and the other is the start of our small business.
Can anyone recommend free hosting? I've been through Heart Internet and somehow it's all gone wrong. I'm willing to give them another try if they are recommended as the best, but if there's a hidden gen out there and you know about it I would be most grateful for your advice.

I'll have some cheese please, bob.

i can not recommend any free hosts. The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.0

I'd avoid free hosts for a business site as there will be adverts and the chances are that you will have adverts for businesses doing the same as you.
I use 1and1.It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
If you're looking for quite a cheap package then generally some of the US hosting companies can provide good value for money.
Media Temple - http://mediatemple.net/
HostIcan - http://www.hostican.com/
Both allow uk domains to be hosted and have multi-domain packages. Both providers have good customer service too.0 -
Personally I wouldn't really trust free hosting, but the company I use is called HostingPunk and is based in the UK, they charge £30 per year, which I think is a pretty good deal. I've been with them a couple of years now and they (touch wood) have always provided perfect hosting with oodles of space (just checked now and it's 2000Mb of webspace and 7Gb bandwidth a month and lots of other bits that I actually dont understand but someone a bit more techy might!).
Their website is www.hostingpunk.com I've got their contact details somewhere around here if it helped!0 -

I use Lunar pages, they are not free but they are fairly cheap. You also get quite a few nice extra such as blogging tools, forums, guestbooks, etc if you are into that kind of thing. They are based in the US, the link 've posted belowis just for Uk users.
I know I'm going sound like a sales person here but their customer service is superb, I can't fault it (no, I don't work for them)
