Who are best, Singapore Airlines, Emirates or Quantas

Have flown bot hBA and Emirates to Dubai a few times.
personally, I found the BA experience to be better for the complimentary booze (who would have thought) but the Emirates entertainment system blew it into the weeds on the newer planes, but the same as BA on the older ones.
I'm trying to find a cheap deal to New Zealand, specifically Christchurch for December.
Quantas have been the cheapest so far by a few hundred quid.
I'd rather stop in Singapore going by what freinds & family, collegues and internet folks have said.0 -
I would vote Singapore too, we stopped over there for 3 nights....... for our honey its an excellent place...... everybody is friendly and its clean.... our taxi driver was brill he was telling us all about Singapore, he told us that the main motorway from the airport doubles up as a landing strip in the event of war

They all have the double decker A380 aircraft and check www.seatguru.com for seat preferences.
Emirates only have the A380 on Dubai to JFK and Dubai to LHR (one flight per day for each of them) so don't rely on being on it unless you deliberately book it. There 777s are comfortable even though they put one more seat than most airlines in every row. In flight service and entertainment both excellent and free meal in Dubai if you have a long stopover. Shopping in Dubai (new terminal opened a couple of months ago) is also excellent if you're into that sort of thing.0 -
It really is a matter of your personal preference, but the traveller's awards keep going to Singapore Airlines...

I had a similar query recently and have decided to book with Singapore Airlines.
I am trying to minimise jet lag as only going to Australia for a week  and thought that a 14 hour first leg would give me more of a chance to sleep than a 6 hour one.0 -

Oh I have heard the same story from a taxi driver too :T0 -
Definately Singapore, I flew with them to New Zealand a couple of years ago, and if I ever get the chance to go again, I will again book my flight with them.0

Can't comment on Quantas but out of Singapore and Emirates I would choose Singapore. On the way to Australia during the stopover in Singapore airport I usually manage to get a lovely back and foot massage and rent a room for a few hours. It really relaxes you for the last leg of the journey to Sydney, which is a killer! It is definitely worth the money.
Last time I had to fly Emirates - the food was not so good, there was an extra stop that I was not warned about and I missed not stopping in Singapore and having to get off in Dubai and Bangkok which were not as nice (in my mind)

I have flown to nairobi with emirates a few times and they are quite good, entertainment is good and so is food, free alcohol etc, and we were even lucky enough to get upgraded once, and the stopoff in dubai means lots of cheap shopping!!

Also, what are the chances of getting a free upgrade, has anyone ever got this or is it wishful thinking!!!
Just so you know if you fly with Singapore Airlines or Emirates then you will have to change aircraft at either Singapore or Dubai. The aircraft you're on will terminate at their respective hubs and you then have to make your own way through flight connections at the airport and then go to the new gate for the Singapore to Sydney or Dubai Sydney flight.
BA and Qantas are the only airlines that fly direct from the UK to Australia. With these two you stay on the same aircraft and same seat all the way, you just get off and back on the same aircraft halfway with all the other passengers.0
