getting tesco points for no spending?

Regular points should give you no problem with returns.
But beware of returning items bought just to get *bonus* points. I have seen a report on another board of a collector having a 'heavy' call and about 5000 points deducted from their account. S/he had been buying quite a lot of items just to earn bonus points and then returning them for refund.0 -
I've had clubcard points taken back off after returning a couple of items from tesco.com electricalI started off with nothing and I've still got most of it left.0

I have done this with boots, by simply cutting the points statement off the reciept! :T :T :T :T :T :T
what planet you are on???
so you would waste time and money(petrol etc....) JUST to get pound or two with deception?????
get a life

can't see anything wrong with cutting a statement to save money - not as if homebase are short of a few bob and lifes hard here in the gutter.you go all your life thinking that money and comfort will bring you happiness only to find all you need is something to be enthusiastic about.:j0

Well said Pingu. Surely it's way beyond reasonable behaviour to resort to deception and dishonesty ( and possibly a technical fraud) just to save pennies. That's not what I thought this site was about.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0

But recently bought Hoover from Tesco which now keeps cutting out .. cannot find receipt .. CS said I could bring in CC bill and this would do, but CC doesnt actually state what was bought and as I bought other shopping at same time the amount is well over the cost of the hoover ... do you think this CC bill will be okay to exchange faulty hoover ?
Tesco's will have a copy of the Till audit roll so if you can tell them when you were instore, etc the can check this way.
What I am not sure is if the Audit roll will have points on it ?

This is what you are technically doing:
The 'property' is the points which become 'cash' which you use to buy items/services with. Whilst I am not saying Tescos or any other organisation will prosecute over a couple of quids-worth of points, there's a difference between taking legal advantage of loopholes which mean we can load our various cards up and making the decision to buy an item with the intention of fraudulently getting the points.
Also, don't kill the goose that lays the golden egg! I like collecting my Tescos and advantage card points
Section :15Act :Theft Act 1968Subject :Obtaining Property By DeceptionIt is an offence by any person to obtain property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive the other of it by deception dishonestly. Deception: Deliberately or recklessly by words or conduct. The deception need not be practised on the person from whom the property is obtained.Max. Sentence Magistrates Court :6 months and/or fineMax. Sentence Crown Court :10 years and/or fine0 -
I, like most people, have bought an item to qualify for points etc. But to deliberately buy the items to return, is just theft and not playing fair imho."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0

My mum tears off the bottom of her receipt to let us add the Clubcard points on.....CS getting a bit shirty with it now though. They haven't stopped doing it but keep dropping in the "we'll do it this time.....". I keep telling my mum to stop doing it and I'll give her back the receipt when I've finished, but she won't listen!! I have given her the keyring fob thing with our clubcard details, but she forgets and then says "its ok though, because I've got the bottom of the receipt..." aagh!!!0

hi,
have just had to return a faulty mini hifi to tesco's today, it was only 20 quids worth, so not a fortune, but just thought i'd tell ya they didn't deduct the points.
