getting tesco points for no spending?

has anyone tried to buy items from tesco and then return them for a refund without having your points taken off you??
I have done this with boots, by simply cutting the points statement off the reciept! :T :T :T :T :T :T

Isn't that a bit risky? Do they take them off you then? Once took a gazebo back to Homebase that was faulty that we bought in the sale and they refunded us the full price as the sale had finished!!Am I talking to myself or wot?!:eek: :eek:

Not sure ... but have taken loads of things back to Tesco and not thought to check.
But recently bought Hoover from Tesco which now keeps cutting out .. cannot find receipt .. CS said I could bring in CC bill and this would do, but CC doesnt actually state what was bought and as I bought other shopping at same time the amount is well over the cost of the hoover ... do you think this CC bill will be okay to exchange faulty hoover ?No Signature Required ......0 -
I think deliberately cutting off the points balance is a bit dodgy to be honest and not in the true spirit of Money Saving.

I bought a pair of jeans purely to get a points voucher for clothes spend I had forgotten to take in when I had bought another pair of jeans that day. Got my 300 points then went to CS and got my money back0

Empty Purse, it was fine when I worked at Homebase. We'd check the system for the price it was on the day you purchased it and refund that amount onto the card. I would imagine Tescos will do the same as they can't penalise you for buying more than one thing at a time.0
