I've been entering loads of competitions since the beginning of January and must have entered hundreds, but not won anything! Some of your signatures show you have won loads!! Am i missing something or shall I just keep going??
Don't forget that a lot of the comps that you have entered may not even have finished yet, and if they have, they don't always send prizes or announce winners until weeks later.Luck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

I've finally heard back from the editor of Bracknell News, and they, Dumbarton Reporter, Reading Chronicle, Greenock Telegraph and Slough Observer are considered part of the same group, so you can only enter through one site.It is a scientific fact that your body will not absorb calories if you take it from another person's plate.:A :A :AChocolate is the answer and I don't give a damn whatthe question is.;)0

Well, should they?
I think they should, if you yourself want to put the answer you have found on here, yes, it is ok.

Isn't that the whole point of the forum?? To share and help people.
Surely if people don't want to see the answers, they shouldn't look at the threads!!
There are lots of other sites that do exactly the same - the difference being you normally have to pay to join.
Maybe the person complaining works for these sites??"He who asks is a fool for five minutes, but he who does not ask is a fool for ever." (traditional Chinese proverb)0 -
Theres nothing wrong with a bit of community spirit and all people helping with answers etc.
What gets me is that we're called greedy for taking answers & not figuring it out ourselves.
People dont moan when theres an answer for a cd or something like that, but when its a BIG prize, they all pipe up!! That is GREED! Theyre scared there is less chance for them to win.
Like people say, if people dont like the answers shown then go elsewhere.Do good and good will come to you.0 -
Hi guys,
interested in getting involved in competitions. Heck, I'm interested in owt for nowt!!!
But of those of you that do comps alot, how do you avoid all the junk mail? I mean, most of the comps want you to agree to some terms and conditions and want a few personal details. So no doubt they send these to third parties and no doubt you get bombarded with all sorts of junk email and post?
I guess my question is how do you recognise the safe comps that aren't just sucking you in for your personal details and how do you deal with handing over your personal details?
Cheers.

A good place to start is Velvet Glove's Compers Guide here -

Have you heard of WHOIS?
I have an email account JUST for comps, and freebie stuff where i expect spam. Always read carefully those tick boxes about do/dont want to get emails from them or third party. Third parties is normally a bad thing i'd say.
For a while just enter on sites that are established/trusted like take a break gruop magazines, itv cash cash comps, bbc magazines, or the big shops,,,, asda, tesco, curries, pcworld and toysrus tend to do comps. xx
Hope that helps, but best to discuss this in the chat thread sticky, regular compers dislike chat threads in the main boards.Julie0
