My Mother also asked me about a dvd I gave her for Xmas and I told her it was a prize, she knows we struggled for money whilst OH was unemployed so wasn't bothered.

Can you remember what bath oil it was? Maybe you can google it and see where stocks it? xx

Can someone help with my dilemma please.

I won some lovely bath/body stuff, lotions, bath oil, candles and such, at the end of 2008. I know I will never use it all so I've been giving some of it away as presents.

It was my friend's birthday recently and I gave her a bottle of bath oil (I think) as part of her pressie. She texted me to say thanks and said how lovely the bath oil was and how she'd never seen it before and where did I get it?

What do I say? What do you say if anyone asks and you've received it as a prize. Please help as I need to text her back.

    Thanks
    Ms C xx

Maybe say that you bought it online and can't remember the website. Or alternatively say you bought it somewhere like TK Maxx where they always have unusual odds and ends and change stock very regularly

  • I've always been honest about any winnings, for Mother's Day today I've given my MIL two prizes I'd won - a clutch purse/handbag & a Champneys set along with a few other bits which she was very pleased with.

Thanks for all your help. I think I'm gonna plump for Skippycat's suggestion fo TK Maxx.

Just checked the website and it states

Our products are stocked in some of the finest department stores, spas and boutiques across Europe.

and includes stockists such as Fortnum & Mason and Selfridges - do you think I'll get away with TK Maxx ;)

That's exactly what I did with my Mum pms, I gave my Mum two Galaxy books which she's thrilled with, then out came.................. The Astley Clarke £350 leather jewelery box I got with my Mydeco win, she was stunned and thrilled and not at all worried that it was a win, she did say when we were leaving last night though that she expects a pressie of the same value next year ;):rotfl:
That ain't working! That's the way to do it, money for nothing and TV's for free ;)

I have spoken to My Village today. As long as you create an account with the usual bog standard details: name, address, email, etc, you will be entered into their competitions. I will add this information next time I post one of their competitions.

  • Hi, i have been told off for putting this on the postal comps board :D so i'll ask in here, whenever i do postal comps i use a blank postcard and write my details and answer on one side and the address it's going to on the other side, is this wrong/will it affect my chances as it seems most people on the postal thread write all of it on the same side
