Sorry - jumped on this one a little late.

Used to work for Monsoon, and the easiest way to find out where an item is, it to call C.S or to speak to Merchandising. The mainline stores have to IBT the stock to the sale stores, so it all goes through their tills. Head office can check the stock-holding on their system. The only problem is that sometimes it is out of sync with the warehouse stockholding and subsequently the store stockholding. Any stores showing less than 2 items isn't worth trying.

I did try CS before but the girl wasn't very helpful. Think I'll maybe try again and hope for someone better!

Thanks. Maybe it's worth calling a few of the branches (or even the head office) and seeing if they'll transfer one to a local branch for you. I hope you find one!

I worked in the head office of a large retailer and in the buying offices we did occasionally get customers calling us up with these sorts of requests.

Right - got someone more helpful at customer services today. HO can't locate sale stock, however now the sale has ended all stores will send surplus sale stock to the following clearance stores:

So - In a week or I can ring round to see if I can get what I'm looking for. They will let me pay by credit card (price plus £3.95 postage) and post it to me.

Anyone lucky enough to love near these clearance stores - got to be worth a visit!
