ok,i reinstalled avg,then used the avg removal tool,and i think its now gone.new ht report below.problem is i still can't open ie or play a cd or dvd.thankyou all very much for all your help anyway.x

You have a lot of faith!..i Double check everthing manualy where possible.... get rid of everything to do with AVG and do a fresh install,Their is plenty of info on googe on how to delete AVG in the registryChild of a Fighting Race.0 -
