I have so much clutter round here... But I'm not sure whether to box it all up ready for a car boot sale, or get into the whole ebay thing. I'm not the best at organising myself to get to the post office to post stuff, but wonder whether I would get better prices online. What do you think?
Been into town (no work today, but working for the rest of the week.
except tomorrow afternoon when I meet with my social worker) and not spent a penny - had a happy afternoon pushing my neighbour's daughter round in her buggy.
Filled in an SOA, but they didn't like the fact that I didn't seem to pay rent, mortgage, etc... so I ignored it. Liked the Snowballer, but don't know where to find it now. Any clues?
Welcome, i'd recommend you try http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx?country=uk
Not sure about keeping OH in the dark but you know best.

Why is OH in the dark?
Well... he is and he isn't. He knows I don't earn much, he knows that if he borrows my car (when the very few occaisions that it doesn't work) it costs me a day's work (unless my work is pre-booked and it's in the same direction).
He knows about my Visa bill, but not about my overdraft. Why? Because he spent so long paying for everything when I was ill, and he still pays the majority of stuff. I don't want him to feel the need to bail me out (and he would), and I need to do this alone. He knows that I am budgeting lots to save money. Also, I suppose I'm a little embarrassed about it all.
I know that this isn't necessarily the way to go, but if I can pay off a bulk of it, and then say something, then I will feel so much better. It may be tough to understand, but that's the way I want to do this.Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j

Good luck Raychee,
I think you have had your LBM in time and can't see a problem in trying to do it yourself, like you say if you can at least do the bulk of it by yourself then what's the problem. By the sounds of it your OH would do it for you but thats not the point if you do it for yourself then I think you will feel much better about yourself if nothing else!!0 -

OK, I see where you are coming from. It's just that if he 'bailed' you out and you repaid him, even if he 'charged' you a nominal interest rate, at least you wouldn't have paid so much interest to Visa and the bank.

Today I spent £6.71 on groceries. I went to buy just a few top-up things and a packet of biscuits to sweeten my social worker who visited today. He didn't eat any of them! It's probably because I downgraded from 2 packs of the lovely boaster type biscuits to some choccy digestives. (Which I'm not eating, but OH will get through very quickly..!)
I feel a little happier today, because I've found out from a reliable source that the adoption panel doesn't look at your debts, but at your ability to pay bills and that you have a little bit in savings. I have NEVER missed a bill payment, my CC and overdraft, though high for me, are both well within their limits, and yes, I do have a little in an ISA. ( I need to keep that in a separate account for emergencies - new washing machines and suchlike!)
Is now time to settle with a glass of wine (left over from Christmas), make sandwiches for work, and go to bed.
I need 5 days more work booked on top of what I have already this month to reach my minimum monthly target. I'm still optomistic!Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j

Today is a good day!

Working all day in a super classroom, and a NSD.
But... I've found a large crack in my windscreen, and I have a £75 excess on my insurance for replacement. (Thank goodness it is on the insurance though...) That's an expense that I haven't budgeted for this month... grrrr! I still think that I am able to keep going with my payment a week for CC though.
OH is all sniffy, and using up a supply of lEmsips. (Personally, I prefer the homemade version, but each to his/her own!)
Not much to report really. Looking forward to getting paid for my pub work in the next couple of weeks - that will be a couple of hundred, as I haven't been paid since November, and I did a few extra shifts over Christmas.
Hope everyone has had a good day!

For the second week, I've come in under budget.
I am so happy, but it really has made realise how much trash i used to buy!
It's also been a good week for work, which helps. It means that I can make a larger payment for my CC when the money goes into the bank, and put away money for school holidays when I don't get paid.
Next week I have another extra shift in the pub. When I (finally) get paid for that work, I'm not sure what to do with the money. Do I keep it as cash, and just not touch my bank account, (I reckon there'll be enough for about 6 weeks groceries when it comes) or do I pay it into the bank and just take out what I've budgeted each week?
I'm thinking that perhaps I need to pay it in, having so much cash within my reach might be too much of a temptation.
Looking forward to another week in getting closer to becoming debt free!
