OH has finally gone to Norfolk. I'm on my own! Not quite sure when he's coming back - could be Thursday, could be Friday. He doesn't know either!
Yesterday was a NSD - but today i need to buy some bananas, and possibly some handcream. I have loads of little tubes of handcream lying around, ones that I got as Christmas presents, but I need something heavy duty. Any ideas on a hand cream that isn't too expensive and REALLY does the job?
I would be grateful for all suggestions.
Apart from that, not much happening. I worked this morning. (only a 2.5 day week this week - - due to the snow yesterday closing the agency I work for.)
This afternoon I counted the money in the tins, jars and boxes on my window sill. My 'sealed' tin has over £25 in it. My 5p + 2p tin has nearly £13, and my 1p jar over £5. One day, I must cash them in.
Going to have the last of the weekend's chicken with pasta and brocolli tonight. Was going to do that last night, but OH decided he'd like fried rice, so cooked that instead, using stuff in the cupboards and fridge (wasn't one of my planned meals). You know what? It was actually pretty good!
I know there isn't much to comment on, but it would be good to hear from you if you do read this! (and somebody must...)Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j

Have bought some Neutrogena abuot half an hour ago!
Will let you know how I get on!
I have £1.57 left until the weekend. (Well, there is £5 in reserve, but I'd like to save that to add on to next week's total!)
Spent over an hour working out how to split my wage up this week. Decided £100 to CC, £35 to savings, and the rest to pay off a little more OD and for the direct debits that come out in the next week. I was a little disappointed with last week's wage - it seemed a little low, considering the work I did. However, when I checked again (about 10 minutes ago) I saw that one of my pay slips had been delayed getting into my account. That's £50(ish) that I can either keep towards the OD, or else go back into my bank account and allocate a little more to the CC.
However, I'm still hoping that I won't have to withdraw any money for next week - SURELY it's time for my pub wage... landlord seems to be making some excuses. He owes me for 60 hours of work. However, one of the other guys is owed for over double that. It's his only income, and he hasn't been paid since November either!
Sorry, I'll stop rambling now!

He took over the pub, and was paying cash in hand. He then said that we would be paid monthly, and his accountant would work all the tax etc out for us. Come December, he says that the accountant works wages out for the last Thursday of the month, which was Christmas day. This month, he says he isn't sure why wage slips didn't come through. (Though I haven't seen him since Saturday.)
He has offered to give me £5ph, and then with the left over from the wage do the PAYE etc. (is minimun wage job)
It is getting frustrating, and I'm not enjoying working for nothing anymore. I'll give it this weekend, asking again, and then get him to give me the payment.
Thing is, I really like the pub. It's a real locals pub, and only needs 40 people to fill it up! It's also my local!Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j

I honestly doesn't think he is.
Custom there has trebled since he took over, and he's a very together person. I just think he's not as organised as he should be.Natwest CC - [STRIKE]£2545[/STRIKE] now £0 :j

Maybe if the accountant is not very efficient ( if he usually does last thursday of the month and it's a bank holiday, every other accountant would do it on the next working day) Sorry but it does sound strange, I'd ask him for an advance on your wages and accountant worth his salt would be fine with that and your employer can't expect you to wait this long.
Be wary, I hope it's just inefficiency but you never know honey...Good luckLBM- finally kicked in 16/12/08 @ [strike]£41,862 [/strike] £0.00/ DFD- 24/12/13

What a fantastic snowy day!

I love this weather. Today I was working in a nursery, and the children learned how to roll the BIGGESTsnowball ever, and we had snowball fights! It was great fun! I have to say, I'm really glad I made the effort to find my wellies to take to school today.
I'm on my 3rd NSD in a row. :j This means I still have £1.50 burning a hole in my purse. Hopefully it will stay there until Saturday, when I can draw out next week's cash. (a whopping £60 - £20 more than normal, as I'm off to see Riverdance with my outlaw mother on Saturday.) Of course, if (by some kind of miracle) I get paid by the pub on Friday, then I won't need to withdraw any cash!
OH is away until tomorrow. I've been taking advantage of him not being around by having extra baths, (not very DFW, but necessary) and yesterday, being in bed by 9pm - bliss! However, I'm really looking forward to his return. :grinheart
There are only a possible 15 teaching days for me in February (still needing my 12 per month) This week I had 2.5 days, and next week I have 3.5 days booked, with only Friday 13th free. Then it's half term. I need to have all 6 free days off February booked to make this month's target. I think the best that will happen is 5 days.
However, there's a job going at one of my favourite schools, and I'm tempted to apply for it. I wouldn't even have to use the car to get there... it's 2 minutes walk away! Hmmmm. If I got that job, I could have my OD and my CC sorted in 3 months! It's looking very attractive!
