I've seen a very large toy rose in Wilkinsons for 99p. Good for a token gift or someone who wants a slap.0

I'm sorry but sending roses to your partner on Valentine's Day is just sooooo naff! Any sensible MSEr will save their money and use it on something she'd find much more romantic and useful, like a Dell 19" TFT say, or something similar?
Besides roses die too quickly - if you must buy flowers get her carnations. That way you won't get ripped off by unscrupulous florists, and you'll get a good 2-3 weeks display of flowers in a vase. You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -

Lets not forget Sainsburys... at least Tesco gave a refund AND sent the flowers, mine NEVER arrived and all I got was £10 voucher to say sorry... thanks...

oi! we're not unscrupulous - just don't go for roses at valentines day - we hate the increase in prices for us to buy the flowers too. Go for a bouquet of tropical/exotic flowers - you'll get better value for money and they will last a good 2 weeks too.
Thank you Babbler - you can't beat a local florist for friendly service and a personal touch x x x0 -

last year I had 24 red Grand Prix roses (the really nice ones with loads of petals) delivered to a hotel we were staying at. They were absolutely beautiful and only 29.99. I still have the link directly to the page, but am not sure if the company is still trading. If you trace back to regalflowers.co.uk it comes up with some bike shop?

I use Tesco a lot and they are always spot on.
I used local florist for years (Interflora) but the prices became ridiculous.0 -
You may want to add a little present from https://www.bonkers.uk.com - postage is very low and they have some very adorable items including JellyCat merchandise.
They will also gift wrap it beautifully for you free of charge for us lads who cant do it as nice as you ladies.
Just a thought ...0 -
Last year Tesco (or similar) were on watchdog for not delivering on their guaranteed valentines delivery date. Nothing appeared from Sainsburys and Tesco delivered later in the week. Was out of order guaranteeing it but then not delivering. Hence they have "delivery date not guaranteed" this year...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0
