Hi Wol - one drownded rat reporting for duty:eek: Well, that's what I felt like today:rolleyes: It tipped it down and I wasnt able to hand out any leaflets (too busy clutching a bucket trying to prize money out of the rich folks in Soilihull). The charity with whom I am working need some more sponsorship so I suggested that they ask BRMB radio as they were at the carnival so a call is going into them and I shall tackle Heart FM as they like to give money to charity.

We will have to catch up - at the moment I am racing at a zillion miles per hour..next week I have two days free (I need to clean out the car as it goes for service), Wednesday training course at Bescot Stadium, Thursday visting a venue, Friday car is in for service and MOT. Need to arrange more appointments and chase up venues that have offered me free lunches - I am going to see if I can tap them for raffle prizes for the charity I support (apparently I am a major sponsor:cool:). Might be getting a decent office chair and a filing cabinet at long last - from a company called Greenworks who recycle office furniture and employ disabled people too:cool: And, I need to send off my letter and CV to the Conservatives so that I can become an MP:D

I have watched the Apprentice and have been appalled at the standard of candidates this time around - I wouldnt give any of them a job. Its just cringe worthy telly - the interviews are quite funny. I don't like Karen Brady at all, she seems to be all sweetness and light when the cameras are on her but away from the camera her mouth is dirtier than a sewer (she swears like a trooper). She swore at an acquaintance of mine who works for John Lewis, he dared to ask if she needed any assistance and was told to go forth and multiply but using much coarser language:eek: I wouldnt want to work for Alan Sugar because one day I want to be Alan Sugar (or rather a female version of him:rotfl:).

Well best dash - I need a coffee (I haven't warmed up from this morning yet).

Unfortunately it's not been a very productive week:mad:. I had a meeting with an extremely difficult client on monday that went on for 5 hours :eek:(Plus 2 hours driving each way) and got back feeling totally drained...to receive an email from them asking me to check an email draft to a potential distributor. It was a carp email, and time was short, so I made an exception and ended up redrafting it myself at 7am the following morning......which is probably what they were hoping would happen anyway...and asked them to ring me to discuss before sending. They didn;t. Instead, they sent it as written and then sent another email to me asking about the additional help "I had promised" for the negotiation on friday with said distributor. Anyhow, that was the final straw....it was blatant manipulation ...and I withdrew under the duvet tuesday afternoon to emerge yesterday.

Luckily my counsellor had returned from holiday so had a session on thursday evening which helped me understand why I had such a reaction to the client. Won't go into details but it does appear I am (at last) developing a healthy aversion to narcissists....and recognising them at a much earlier stage.

So I need to look at what I have actually achieved this week......I have
    a) discovered my Swarovski crystal is ebayable for a decent price....(actually might consider putting a batch of valuable stuff together for auction rather than ebay)
    b) got the car windscreen fixed and the MOT done (tax is end of June)
    c) attended and taken the Royal British Legion branch meeting minutes
    d) been to dentist for 6 monthly check up
    e) been to surgery for smear test
    f) got refund on clothes from M & S - wrong size in the branch but bought anyway cos could alter them......then ordered the right size online and so returned the wrong sizes to the branch..... then saw one of the skirts I had just bought online reduced in the branch by £16 - so bought that and will return the other one for a refund :D
    g) Had dinner and catch up with friend thursday night
    h) cleaned kitchen floor
    i) had cooker man come and tell me oven door can;t be fixed as it is the design (glass door doesnt; close properly on rubber seal and hot air escapes all the time through the gap) ...and because the builders supplied it they won;t change it for another one. Another fight...........but saved for next week.
    j) found some real bargains in charity shop - some Poole pottery, whittards tea service, out of print book.... that can all be ebayed
    k) found and ordered two core gold electrical flex so can now repair old but lovely table lamp
    k) put a load of posts on DFW :D

    Today I have
Changed my dollars and euros back into £57 at the post office
Taken some paintings in to be framed
Got my prescription ordered (not been taking tables for last four weeks :o as waiting for pre payment certificate)
Gone to garden centre to buy compost for hangin baskets with vouchers
Set up 8 hanging baskets for friend......mine to do tomorrow
Planted three courgettes in grow bag
    Watered all plants
Got the tree surgeons quoted and booked
Tidied up outside and prepared for lots of rain tonight _pale__pale_ (put tarps over piggie cages and secured them plus got pet carriers ready in case emergency evacuation needed early tomorrow morning)

Just got to update my siggie to take account of the £57.
Two things to put down so I don;t forget:
    a) Bank charge of £8 has been taken despite several phone calls last month and them admitting it was a "computer error" so need to chase that up -
    b) Ring Bank Manager ref credit owing because he didn;t put my savings account into the offset on 1st April - I have lost 6 weeks interest and despite him saying he would credit it back, it hasn;t happened

And I think at this point it is now clear why I'm stil feeling so carp. On one hand, in my professional life, I am having to deal with people who want me to do the stuff they don;t want to do......but are not willing to pay my rates or even give credit to me where it is due and assume I should/will work for free. On the other hand, in my personal life, I am quite prepared to pay the going rate to have my bank account/insurance policy/building work/bridge survey etc peformed properly.....yet I am having to fight to rectify faults/mistakes and oversights every step of the way.:confused::confused:

    It's a double whammy....:wall::wall::wall:

Tired now...will do pig of the wheek tomorrow and reply to posts
Nite all - hope you're managing to stay warm this cold weekend!

Here are my 3 big boys! They are all brothers although bad boy Beechie doesn;t live with his siblings as he decided he preferred the single life when he was going through his stormy adolescence. ;) Beechie boy is the piggie that bit through my tendons this itme last year. Their father is Grommie guinea and their mother Crumpet (sister to Muffin) passed away last year. As you can see Maple and Willow have similar colouring to their cousins Amber and Scarlatti ....(previous pigs of the wheek). They also have two sisters, Whisp and Pierrot who will feature next week.

IMG_0758-1.jpg Beechie Boy - him wot dunnit
What can we say about Beechie....this boy has attitude! Although he has calmed down a lot as he has got older. He always talks to me when I am around and is particuarly vocal when he's hungry. His fur on his back end sticks out at all angles and he's a bit like Vyvyan from the Young Ones but without the metal stars ;)

IMG_0764.jpg Beechies bothers Willow and Maple.

Maple is top pig......stocky and calm (but clearly doesn;t like Beech very much :o) Willow, with his long coat tails but very glossy shiny fur is quite timid and really needs to be renamed Houdini as he has fallen out of his cage several times and scuttled off into the undergrowth. Last year when I was in rented accomodation, I spent two hours putting up barriers before hacking down a jungle to get him back :rotfl::rotfl:

Will put up their baby pics later
