How on earth did they manage to cut a cable like that?!
Sorry about the hand.
How's the spending diary going? I've been doing one for the last month or so. I was pleasantly surprised that over xmas my entertainment spending was 60p! Until my birthday when I completely smashed it (and got smashed!).Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Jeez, as Numpty says what a bunch! I think another party is definately in order when all is done and dusted.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Gosh I so do not know how you cope with it all.
Hi Beanie...
Thanks Hun for the vote of confidence but......I have to say.....sometimes I can't cope (although in fact my coping levels have now risen to three to fours days out of seven each week - so I'm obviously getting better from the 0.5 days/7 last year)
On the "can't cope" days (triggered by pants stuff the day before and possibly subsequent imbibement of a whole bottle of vino in the evening), I find it difficult to get up/feel motivated before 10.30am ....and I set myself just one task to do that day....and if I get more done then that's a bonus.
Baby steps really means what it says.....and sometimes it can be incredibly frustrating, especially for someone like me who has always been working/performing 15 hours each day, 7 days a week for most of my adult working life......
- but I know if I don't continue to take this whole situation I find myself in seriously, slowly and properly (i.e. must deffo NOT try and push myself to work through it without dealing with it as I have always tended to do in the past) ....I will just push myself towards another breakdown....(This is on the advice of the health professionals treating me atm...there is only so much you can take/ignore/dismiss before it catches up with you and I have to admit I have been running for years....unfortunately now it's all caught up with me and I ma now having to deal with it..)
Sometimes I feel a bit of a fraud as I had no idea before the last 18 months exactly what emotional/post traumatic stress/past domestic violence can do to your physical as well as mental well being....losing 2 stone in 4 weeks was a big shock (I was only 10 stone to start with)..and although I read about other people, I never really gave "stress" enough importance/validity....never truly realised exactly how debilitating it can be especially being unable to have any control over the outcome of your situation.....
And still now, 18 months on from the flood, when stuff kicks in (Like another "discovery" of what no longer works in my house since the flood..or the current financial concerns ....or something that reminds me of past stuff many years ago)...it really does (frustratingly) still set me back...the night sweats start, the weight falls off, and I just am still unable to function to my previous capabilities..(i.e. ignore it and get busy).. ..I hate this stuff happening....because I seem to have very little control over it (which is perhaps the worst thing actually )..and because I then beat myself up over what I haven't achieved that day..
Anyhow....to anyone reading this...if you are going through something similar...take heart..it will get better...but it CAN be slow!!
Hugs Beanie....we really must get to meet... if you are not coming to Manchester it MUST SURELY be at the Wol's "[STRIKE]Phoenix[/STRIKE] Old bird rising" party in July/Aug

Atta girl Ames..:T .after all...what are birthdays for?
I have calculated that this week I have made 13 meals for £15.00 so am feeling very very chuffed. As I said previously, this month is food month and it does appear to be going very well on that front and I now feel I am starting to get control of my freezer and weekly shopping bill :T :j
Unfortunately I have had to buy stationary (£131) , insulation (£100)... but got back BT refund (£68) and 4 numbers on the lottery (£28) to pay for the latter...:j ..BUT!!! Two tyres needed for car before end of month (£400  )... but might be able to income generate a bit more this month to cover all this - we'll see what tomorrow brings
Are you coming to Manchester Hun?

I saw you Wol posting at 01.17 naught Wol
Glad to see that lots of people are going to my home town for a meet. You should have fun there I am sure!
Sorry that the consultant seems to be so unencouraging about your arm. I wonder has anyone suggested having ultrasound on the area? thought is might help break up the scar tissue? just a thought
I am absolutely astonished that someone could cut an electric cable and A) not fry them selves ornot notice when it happened. Just another thing to add to the list of things to complain about.

chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Yeaaayyy! Chev...both of us on at once.....
oh and sorry Auntie Chev I am being a naughty girl up so late
Ultrasound was given - four weeks too late for it to have any effect (i.e. 12 weeks post op) so they stopped it......now too far gone (7months post op) to break up scar tissue apart from with meat [STRIKE]hammer[/STRIKE] tenderiser ( ) and said E45 cream...so we'll just have to let nature take it's course as any interventional treatment has "missed it's window of opportunity"....I just love the NHS.......
Anyhow my dear..how are things in Chev land....good and getting better I hope...and by the way do you still need a babysitter as I am still happy to volunteer
Oh and ref the electric cable - they (a) obviously cut it when power was switched off and (b) wouldn't have noticed because they didn;t even notice that nothing they did was actually level or straight - my tiling was put on wall in a banana shape and my floors are cambered worse than the M25 - clearly they haven;t discovered spirit levels yet :rotfl: :rotfl:
Hugs to you my dear.....really hope all is OK and you are moving onwards and upwards!! :grouphug: :kisses3:
