    Hi everyone

Thanks all of you for posting. :A :A

Can't believe it's two weeks since i posted. Sorry to be away so long (I have lurked) but it's been a bit manic...I'm fine thanks everyone (well I had stinky cough and cold for last two weeks) and the good news is it does now feel that all the carp is starting to reach an end point and soon I will know where I stand financially to be able to make decisions and get on with my life.

So..... that's mad March out of the way and the high points are
    a) I have invoiced enough to keep me going over march AND april (some of the work has spilled over but I still get paid within 30 days) :j
    b) Think I should be able to earn enough to cover my outgoings in new contracts that I have lined up for the next 6 months :T
    c) Lot of "me" time booked for April/May - socialising plus sorting out the work to be done both inside and outside the house...plus helping parents in their new house.. .see below
    d) my parents sent each of us kids a cheque for some of the equity released from selling the house.......with instruction we are to pay off some of our mortgages :j ...BUT (see below)
    e) Went to see Simply Red in Brighton on tuesday - didn;t realise it's their last tour and so glad i went as I have always wanted to see them. It was great...and a small venue so no sound or viewing problems even though I was right at the back in the corner. Note perfect, all the old favourites......fantastic concert.

    the low points are
    a) still sending off mammoth letters to insurance company and loss adjuster on a weekly basis. They have until 9th April then it's off to the OMbudsman....and looks like I may then have to go to court as well to recover the bulk of the "consequential financial losses" which now means finding a good solicitor icon9.gif However at least the insurance company are now treating this seriously and will be coming back with some money at least....

    b) parents new house is ..      ......well let's just say..."extremely inappropriate for two elderly people with mobility difficulties". The garden is a mass of steps and dad has already fallen over. The whole house needs gutting (apart from the kitchen) and re-doing. Their plans for extensions, modifications, landscaping etc are going to cost a lot more than they think..may not be do-able....will take longer than they think....and I think they will be very stressed living under the current conditions. I am extremely concerned for their well-being. Therefore the money they have given me will sit in my offset as cash as I suspect they will need it back once they start getting quotes ;)

Piggies are looking forward to seeing various Aunties and Uncles over this month and I should now be back on regularly....I also need to get back on top of the spending diary and sort out the finances which have taken a bit of a back seat last month owing to the work...

Back later tonight........got to go to a few tile shops......

Wol, I'm so glad to hear your situation is looking up, but  to what the parents have done. Sensible of you to stick it in cash at the mo, but I hope you *do* get to have it.
