great idea for making blanket from scarves, http://blog.craftzine.com/archive/2008/10/recycled_scarf_blanket.html
This rug appears to have been made from folded felted blanket strips, really effective, you could make it in a more conventional shape if you wantedhttp://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/rugs-carpets/recycled-blanket-rug-by-tejo-remy-and-rene-veenhuizen-043188Pucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0 -

Hi she grinch, both links are for the scarf blanket; would love to see the rug
I've said it before and I'll say it again - I don't know where you find all these things
My poor head is so befuddled wondering which ones I really want to attempt, I'll probably never get around to any of them! :rotfl:some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

she grinch - the rug looks brilliant but brings back memories of very sore fingers years ago.
I saw in a book how you could cut strips of material (old dresses, anything really) plait them together and then sew them in a sort of coiled circular shape. I was doing ok for a start then I got so many blisters I gave up..........lolMary

I guess there is no pain free way of sewing them, but hey don't we all suffer for our craft! I have put my finger under the sewing machine needle, snipped fingers using scissors, pins in fingers and feet! lack of sleep finishing projects, and got sort of carpet burns learning to crochet basic blankets!Pucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0

I was just thinking about some kind of recycled storage for people to keep there craft stuff in and look what I found! http://www.instructables.com/id/Modular-Water-Jug-Storage-Bins/
very inventive and no cost as you would probably buy these already or know someone who does, great for storage in garage for all those screwsand nails, or workshops etc and also great for temporary storagePucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0 -
Here is a useful idea for knitters for recycled yarn containers to keep wool clean and tangle free. http://www.instructables.com/id/Recycled-Container-Portable-Yarn-Holders---Sewusef/Pucker up and kiss it Whoville! - The Grinch:kiss:0
