I tried to book a ticket with IDT prepaid cc. Airline company couldnt get an authorisation but my money was gone...i deposit 140£ and 130£ for ticket was on minus...Airline co. is respectful and wouldnt lie to me..We investigated that Pegasus never got the money. It was authorised but then it wasnt for the second time (Pre-post auth)...I dunno.how to explain, strange terms to me...so confused...it is weekend, IDT doesnt work (which is ridicilous and unbeliaveble) and my acc shows 9 pounds only...Airline co said only 24 hours enough to make it available again..its been 3 days....since website daily update works my money should be on the screen too...Is this a fraud or can anybody advise me what to do...my flight is gone, i spent 200 £ on o2 topup and im so broke now...This co. makes me gurp!! if mr.ceo is here maybe he can halp me on that. Now i understand why they are on that island not in here, easy to do such things away.....if they dont take the responsibility what can i do???

I'm sorry but I could not understand a word of that.
Sorry mate, and thnk u for answering...Let me try again...
I tried to book a plane ticket with IDT prepaid credit card. Ticket was 130 and i had 140 in the card. The customer service rep. (airline co) told me that i have enough money but the IDT would not authorise this process. We double checked my card info, tried again , nope no luck.. I opened my browser and logged into my IDT acc page and very interesting it showed me minus 130...So it was collected by Pegasus airlines...I called Pegasus again, answer was the same. The money is not in their bank, they did not collect such amount. I called IDT this time. IDT rep told me that they gave an authorisation and Pegasus have 30 days to collect it. I got more confused if you know what i mean. Both companies told me that i should check again after 24 hours to see whats gonna happen. They told me maybe theres a glitch in the process of Pre-Authorization or Post-Authorization. I waited 3 days but nothing has changed. Airline co. was called by certain people in my family whos got better knowledge than me on this issue but they also told me that this is not airline company mistake and they dont have the money. I also talked to the Airline co. Manager...the same....they have done their best....They are advising me to call the "BANK" but IDT is not a bank and they dont work weekends..Tomorrow is monday ill call IDT and ill ask whats going on but im afraid the answer will be "NOTHINGS WRONG, AIRLINE CO. COLLECTED THE MONEY"...IDTs got very strange reps, i dont think they know what they are doing there in Gibraltar...
Man, i lost all of my few bucks on topping up my phone calling companies, i wanted to spend some time with my family..Im so desperate...No one to goto , no one to ask to....This is such an invisible Company...I regret buying this card...
so card declined but money still debited the card
i believe this case is similar

if theres something im missing please enlighten me, like, rules of banking system or anything. i dont know.
all i can relate is...Theres a registration process in IDT web site...Not activation but registration. and it says:
if you register, you can make purchases over the telephone and on those websites that require you to enter a username and address to make an online purchase.
but in the beginning IDT rep told me that registration is not necessery for payments over the phone. You have to activate your card to use it but you don’t need to register it to start shopping.
So i didnt register before booked my ticket. i had to goto the airport asap..As they told me its not necessary. Ive done it later thou. And i read about "if you register, you can make purchases over the telephone and on those websites that require you to enter a username and address to make an online purchase"
and i was shocked!!
Do you think this is all happening because registration was not completed before this purchase??Last time i talked to IDT rep he said it would not be the problem...But this is only one shot, ill call again??so
If yes, what do you think is gonna happen???
sorry for my bad english
appriciate your advices...
tnx alot

What has probably happened is that the airline has authorised an amount on your card. If you bought the tickets, the charge would be finalised, but if you don't buy them then if you leave it about a week, the authorised amount will become available again. You should call IDT and see if this is the case, unfortunately only the travel agent can remove the authorisation before it expires.0

tnx for replying. The thing is, airline company told me that they removed the authorisation and it should be active in 24 hrs. It didnt...Im still on -130...I cannot go ahead and buy cuz it was declined on airline system. Money has to be in my acc. but it shows not enough money now. Basically IDT financial services did not believe im the owner of the card and card was declined during seller verification...Airline says i didnt receive, idt says i paid...God..its a mess...Alotof people experienced this with paypal and google ads and their money all gone!!!0 -
I found this info from a company QA - just wanted to share:
My credit card was declined, but it still got charged. Actually, your credit card has not been charged if it was declined. Occasionally a bank will place a hold on funds when an authorization is requested even though they then decline the charge, usually for ‘invalid address or zip code.’ The funds are released after a few days, when the bank realizes that actually no charge was placed. Honestly, we have no idea why this happens. No bank has ever given us a straight answer.
looks like this is my case0 -
IDT says 30 days to get this money back into acc. Can u guys believe it...They stole my money obviously. I would suggest people stay away from this card. This is such a nightmare and no one to complaint to. The rude agents in their office are unbelievable0

Please inform every single person u know..IDT Prime Card is a thief system. They wont get u a manager on the phone, they have always "we dont care" attitude and they finally make u swear them on the phone and hang up on u...Talmud reading owner of this company built this business by selling hotdogs on the street and u guys can see how he achieved building IDT by stealing money from people. My plane ticket was 130 pounds, 200 spent on phone top up and my ticket is now 186 pounds and im going to a vacation with 50 pounds in my pocket....Thnx everybody for showing attention and stay away from this company0

As an online retailer, I thought I'd add my tuppence worth.
We have started to see these cards trying to use our system. However, what happens is:
1) The transaction is 'approved', i.e. an Auth Code is generated.
2) IDT Prime will allocate funds from the customer's account for the transaction. All banks do this.
2) Our bank flags the transaction as a possible fraud because IDT Prime cards are issued by an overseas bank (US?) but the customer's billing address is in the UK (assuming this is where you registered it).
3) We then automatically 'Void' the transaction to protect ourselves.
However, when we 'Void' a transaction, there is no automatic instruction we can send to our bank to tell the customer's bank to return the allocated funds immediately.
The allocated funds will only be unfrozen when the Auth Code expires, which can take several days, depending upon the customer's bank.
This is not just a problem with IDT Prime, but with all banks. Hence, we have started performing initial transactions of 1p and only then proceeding with a transaction for the full amount if the 1p transaction works. By doing this, our customers don't have large amounts frozen from their accounts.
Our beef with IDT Prime is:
a) Someone buying a pre-pay card in their local corner shop doesn't appreciate that this is from a non-UK bank and hence will often be flagged as potentially fraudulent.
b) Since an Auth Code was issued, IDT Prime will charge you 50p (or whatever) for the transaction fee. We are still waiting to find out if this gets returned when the Auth Code expires.
Therefore, as an online retailer our opinion of IDT Prime is AVOID.0 -
IDT Wanted my airline companys bank to fax them about the cancellation. They did it kindly. IDT told me that i need only 24 hours to get my money back on card Assuming the fax meets the criteria. I waited 3 days , i am emailing them but they wont answer. I am still on minus. Never spent a penny from that damn card. And they stole my 130 pounds in front of everybody. They are smart, not located in UK so no one would go and stop by and ask for their money. They are in Gibraltar. But their number is 0870 from uk.
They are simply thiefs and there is no excuse..This is not a glitch in system or a mistake of digital world. This is obviously thief, fraud - u name it
Could anybody tell me where to go, what to do??? Is there a UK organisation who could deal with this case? a complaint hotline?? anything??
Unbelievable...
IDT Prime CEO or whatever....If you read this mail and got some morals, answer what happened to my money. How many people u steal money from...World would be a better place without s**bags like you

i'm in the same boat as you with idt finance
i bought a printer for £56 online the company who i bought it off emailed me about an hour later saying it was a miss price and my printer won't be sold, and no money was exchanged between myself or the printer company.
24 hours later i checked my balance on the card and someone has taken the £56 from my account.
i phoned prime ( 0 800 458 7149) and got told the money will be held for 30 days unless i can prove the transaction was not complete.
after kicking off prime said i had to get the company which i tried to buy a printer off to sent prime's bank a fax saying no money will be taken.
will update0
