IDT Prepaid Card - card declined but money was charged

I did exactly the same. Fax did go thru ,but hey!!! IDT told me :

We can confirm the receipt of the fax. However we are unable to cancel the transaction as the merchant has already settled the transaction and removed the money from your card. You will need to speak the merchant about your funds. If the merchant no longer require the funds, they must process a refund back onto your card.

The merchant never but never got this money in their account. I have seen their manager and bank....They wont lie...30 days waiting is bull*hit....At least it was a lie in my case....I dont even know where the money is...Probably IDT finance...They are thiefs....You would not believe how much i spent to call them. They wont answer emails...

Player One...If they say the transaction was completed...Ask them for a number and date...I am wondering what would they say to u....

still no joy, they have now said that the company that i bought my printer from has not taken any money which i knew, and prime has pre-approved funds to leave my account for the printer order which has been cancelled????

my money is now in prime's hands for the next 30days (will i get the interest payments)

Get the reference and authorisation code for your transaction. And call them again and ask if the transaction was settled. Mate, talk to anthony from IDT call center...Hes better than anyone....Ridicilious huh?? it is

I did not get anything mate.. I dont think i will anyways...Im not in UK so i have no chance to investigate more. I ve sent complaint letters to a few gov. sites...just for the sake of other possible victims. everytime i call these people i spend more and more..im tired of this...but update your status here, and please call them and ask if the transaction is settled..they will hit you from there...if they finalise the transaction (merchandiser takes the money - my merchandiser did not find out that they receieved the money) within 30 days u dont need to wait 30 days obviously...then u need to get the authorisation code and the date of this SETTLED transaction...IDT will tell you to contact the merchandiser who sold you the goods...to make a refund...bad thing is you will have to wait 30 days again...sorry for my bad eng. ...ask if you are confused...good luck....

well the 30 days is up and i've still got no money, another phone call later, i'm told the money will go back on my card before 5:30 tonight which i'm betting nothing will go onto my card, then i will be told nothing can be done until the weekend

I bought one of these Prime Cards this morning and I'm now about to cut it up this afternoon. I have also tried to pay for something online, the transaction wasn't accepted but I was still charged £2.90.

Of course you cannot get in contact with anyone from customer service you just end up going on a loop when you ring and I have no doubt I was paying for a premium rate phone call.

I bought this card thinking I might protect myself from fraud when buying online. I now realise IDT Finance are the fraudsters which probably explains why they are based in Gibraltar.
