Am I Getting There???????

Hi hope
sounds like you're halfway there anyway which is just to get super motivated!
to keep you going why not join a challenge or two - i've found they're great to keep you motivated once you've made a start. i guess suitable ones for you might be the payment a day, and also to get some extra to help with the payment a day, try the £10 a day challenges - always good for ideas...
and make sure you whack the same amount that you'd normally be spending on the council tax over the next 2 months off your credit card!
spending diaries are good to make you obsessive about not wasting money!
my guess is you'll be home and dry before you know it! good luck x0 -
Hi Kym,
thank you so much for your advice I will trawl the challenge board tonight and see what suits.
Today has been a no spend day so that is good start and this week I am not working so I will not have petrol costs as I can walk to and from nursery(and have peace and quiet for a few hours in the morning) so I should have a very low spend week- fingers crossed!!!
My OH hates me being on MSE as he knows it is going to cost him his summer holiday abroad lol:p - we will see if there are ways round that but the holidays are sooo expensive this year!!
Thanks again for your advice and getting me motivated!!xxx

Morning all,
well I am planning on another no spend day today- little one is at nursery so I am just going to get housework, washing and ironing up to date before I have to pick him up(thats if I can stop looking on MSE):p
Have found myself a little notepad to use as a spending diary- much to OH disgust as I have told him that he also has to do this- he says "I am getting obsessed and its p*****g him off" Oh well, lol!!!
Will report back later to hopefully say I have spent £0!!!:AVirgin card-0/1440:j

Hi,
well I have had a no spend day but just used up the last of the bread to make my little ones lunch so I will replace tomorrow.
My OH is devastated that he is not getting a holiday. I am going away for a few night with friends as my best friend is getting married and she is having hen weekend abroad (why do they all do this now??) so at least I am getting a holiday, lol:rolleyes:
Well, you never know I may win the lotto (chance would be a fine thing)
We just came back from a holiday in September so he cant really complain??
Once debt is paid we are saving for a holiday to Disney World before my little one starts school and we get forced in to taking hols over the school holidays(extortionate)
We have priced holidays for this year but they are soooooooo expensive- what a rip off!!!  :mad:Virgin card-0/1440:j

Officially a spend free day- thats 2 days on the trot whooppeeeee!!!:D
I need to buy a few things tomorrow
bread, milk, cheese, orange juice, beef
I aim to spend no more than £8.00 when I go to Tesco
I have not been using the car as little ones nursery is only a 5 minute walk so that is good as saving on petrol.
Going to ask my work if there is any overtime available soon.
I aim to spend no more than £30.00 this week and I will keep updating on here to keep myself motivated and you guys bored:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:Virgin card-0/1440:j

keep going hope you're steaming into it!
you might have to make some little compromises with oh though else he'll start to resent it and money isn't worth ending up in relationship counselling! maybe you can set him goals and then reward his moneysaving with little treats for the 2 of you to share?
i've subscribed to your thread and will be watching with interest!0 -
Hi, thanks Kym.
Do you think if I am really tight he will divorce me- fingers crossed(only kidding):rotfl:
Well, just back from Tescos and spent £12.00 but got quite alot for my £12.00 so that should hopefully see me through until the end of the week.
Walked up to nursery and will walk back up to pick l'l un up at 12pm.
Just getting housework, washing etc done again, is it just me but I feel like I am doing the same bloody chores everyday.
Oh well, I suppose it saves me spending money.
Meant to say I got shouted at off my OH this morning as he wants to take money out of the bank to get new jeans and shoes I am not very happy although I know he needs these things- I am getting so miserable with money but I will do what Kym has suggested and let him get these because I do NOT want to end up with a sore head listening to him going on about it;)
Well I better get back to the tasks ahead xx :AVirgin card-0/1440:j
