I can just see my 70 year old mother's face if I decided to go home and live off her pension......0

Why would a SON want to live off his disabled parents who rely on benefits? Not if he was a real man, anyway.
I dont think anyone said he wanted to live off his disabled parents.
Maybee he has split from his partner, had him home reposesed who knows.
The OP said he might be coming to stay. they also said he is willing and able to pay.
Its a bit out of order when you make posts like this.
You should change your name to olderandmiserable.0 -
LOL ! Ok for those it might concern !--
He might be splitting up with his partner..
we were discussing where he goes/what he does next
It was one of a list of options I came up with
But I had to check that we wouldnt be any worse off if he came here !!
I don't grudge him a plate of porridge and some soup/stew a day...but he wouldn't impose... and I wouldn't let him .

some people don't a have a choice when things happen in their lives.

It is actually quite constructive to suggest to the OP that if the son is earning he should contribute to the cost of his own food etc. In fact even if he is on benefit he should do so.0

i'm sure the son would contribute to food, bills etc, it was the idea that he'd just live off his parents that irritated me.
i might have to move back in with my folks if things go downhill for any reason, but i'd contribute without even thinking about it, it would be only natural to pay my way as i would when not living with them.Nonny mouse and Proud!!

A person who cares for their children is not 'very nice'!
What sort of world is it where feeling concern for your offspring deserves a superlative?
A person who does not care for their children may be not very nice but that does not make a person who cares for their children very nice.0 -
