Can think of nothing that could be said that would ease your pain, but did not want to read and run.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family at this difficult time, and am so glad that you could hold him and be with him right to the end and that you did not have to make the decision you were dreading.

Take care of yourself and hopefully hugs with your daughter will help a bit, big hugs from me (and as was said, MSE can be a very supportive place, and I have a wonderful Cruse counsellor so can recommend them).
