Sunday 11/1/09 What small dfw things have you done today???

:DWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Today i will:
  • check online banking -
  • update spreadsheets
  • storecupboard lunch and tea
  • trip to costco for bulk buying - no chance of no spend day
  • swim and jacuzzi to use membership
  • reduce, reuse, recycle one thing -recycle cardboard boxes from costco for storage for work
  • do one thing just for fun - go for walk this afternoon
  • do something nice for someone else- spend time with my poorly dad
  • sparkle
Morning dfw's, hope you are all well and sparkly today:D
Hugs to anyone feeling down or poorly - hope you feel better soon.
OH due home from work any minute now and then going to have lovely bacon and mushrooms on toast for brekkie:D

hve a great day everyone catch you later:D
Reduce,re-use, recycle.

Good morning Sophiesmum and all that follow.

The most DFW thing that I have done today so far is get a cup of tea and get onto here .... by 7.30am on a Sunday!! It seems to set me up for the day to refresh my motivation by looking at the threads and seeing so much enthusiasm for becomig debt free!

    The rest of the will see me;
    • Finishing my assignment for college that's due in tomorrow! (not DFW but has to be done and may mean I can earn more in the future!)
    • Do 2 x washings loads and dry them on airer.
    • Iron the school clothes (and other bits if I have time).
    • Lay the fire ready to light when we come home later to save turning the heating up a notch.
    • Bake a couple of cakes for lunch boxes next week.
    • Turn the steak mince I got on offer on Friday into 2 meals for next week - Chilli and beef cobbler are a favourite with the kids.
    • Put recycling bags out ready for bin men to take next week.
    • Do meal plan for next week (based on storecupboard and freezer).
    • Check online banking and update spreadsheet.
    • Spend more time on here!
That's all I can fit in I think because we have been summoned to go out for Sunday Lunch with OH's Mother as his brother is visiting today. That sounds a bit miserable of me but we don't see his brother from one year to the next and his Mother makes such a song and dance when he does travel the 30 miles that he lives from her to see her. We are all 'expected' to drop everything to go over! I said I'd rather cook it here than have the expense of eating out but she says she is going to pay, but OH won't let her! Would still cost us drinks but I'll stick to my usual slimline tonic. I'm sure it will be fine and that will be it for another year!

Hope everyone has a great DFW day!

    Good morning everyone,

I hope everyone is well. I haven't looked out of the windows yet so can't tell what kind of day it is:rolleyes:.

I have lots to do today (as ever) and really need to get to it asap. One thing I've noticed that sometimes distracts me is this site! It's so activitated. So, one of new rules is to set a time limit to spend online. I'm using a lot of electricity so that will help with the DFW!

I offered my first item on Freecycle last night - I can't believe the response I got. Will definately do more when I get back. Definately need to declutter this flat.

Here is my list for today:
    • Save new and updated files on external hard drive as my brother is coming to take away my current computer. Done
    • add to the list of important information for my holiday Done
    • Go through a couple of websites that has useful tips for our trip and make some notes.
    • clear living room Done
    • vacuum living room, hall and stairs Done
    • Have old vacuum ready for freecycle collection Done
    • empty bins and recycling boxes ready for bin collection tomorrow Done
    • Clean bathroom Leave this to Flylady this week
    • Take spare recycling bin to garage as there is not enough space in the front garden
    • Ironing - this is a mountain!!!! Mountain Conquered!!!!!!!
    • Sort clothes for week - it helps me to be a bit more organised in the morning Still to do
    • Check T shirts fit for holiday
    • Make soup Done -have enough for the week
    • Make flapjacks Done
    • clean kitchen done
    • Deal with a load of work papers I have accumulated Pile one done!
    • Spend at least 30 mins on tidying the bedroom. It is so cluttered!!! Will do when I get home

I have a few more minutes to surf before I head off to start on the tasks.

  • Morning everyone:j

    So, today I will......
    • Do daily scratchcard
    • Go to Tesco armed with my list as I meal-planned last night
    • Clean kitchen and mop floor
    • College work
    • Check online banking and pay my sister the £4 I forgot I owe her
    • Make my butternut squash soup
    • Ironing for the week
    • Put clean bedding on girls' beds
Think that's about it for now. Luckily I did most of the cleaning yesterday
    Have a good sunday:p
