Vodafone PAYG disconnect non usage

I topped up a new Vodafone SIM with a tenner at roughly 22nd Dec 2009, after not using the SIM I check at the end of Jan 2010 to see if it is working ok only to find it is disconnected, so I email Vodafone about it and they keep replying with a standard email explaining about not using the SIM within 180 days and they recycle the number and I can't get my £10 back, I keep telling them please check their records and the will see it was only about 30 odd days and not over 180 days! and they keep emailng me back the same cut and pasted rubbish about their terms and for me to buy a another SIM at £5, I keep emailing saying please check your records it has only been about 1 month and they keep saying buy another SIM hope that helps you   , I understand mobile operators recycling/disconnecting numbers but Vodafone cut me off after about 1 month and aren't interested what so ever about resolving the issue
, anyone please got any advice on what I should do? it's not even really for getting the £10 back but really for the principle of them being in the wrong and couldn't care and to prevent this from happening to other people
Thank You
Did you make a call/send a text. I'm pretty sure when my dad's number got recycled they said you have to make a chargeable call or send a text that you have to pay to send.
However looking at their terms & conditions.
section 6a3 defines using the services as follows
Using this service means making any chargeable outbound calls (but not calls to 191, see your price plan for charges) or topping up your account.
so it clearly says topping up counts.
I would contact them again & quote their terms & conditions. Also are they disputing when you topped up the phone? Do you have proof of when you did it? (credit/debit card statement etc).
If you still can't get any one at customer services to help ask for a manager, if still still no joy put your complaint in writing.
In the meantime if you need to get another sim here is a link for a free one (although it won't have any credit on it so you will still need to buy a top up unless they credit your £10 to it).

Seem to have got this sorted now
, eventually I just asked to speak to someone who was above them, manager or what, a good few days later a reply from someone who says they have read through the chain of emails I have received and are sorry and will put £25 onto a new SIM for me, so can't complain really 0
