I made my first ever trip to Hobbycraft today it's about an hour and half away from where I live but well worth it!!! I'm all set now with my crimper so when I get DS to bed this evening I shall be having a go!
On the way home I noticed a Home Bargains so popped in there, they had exactly the same crimper with 2 pairs of scissors and a paper cutting thing for £2.99!:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -
I made one of these yesterday to try just with a piece of white paper. It actually looked like it should and was the right shape! I showed it to OH who said "what is it and why do you want to make more?" also when I told him I wanted to buy a crimper he said "a hair crimper?" men....I am going to make some for Easter to put little eggs in.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -

My husband was just the same bunbun2 "you're buying a what?"
I'm going to do some for valentines and easter too but I must get the chocolates to go in them first. I can't keep just making up empty ones. LOL0 -
I managed to get a ribbler today in Home Bargains - in a box with 2 pairs of scissors that cut in different patterns and 2 punches for £2.99
I also picked up another kit, again with punches and scissors, but instead of a ribbler it has a gadget that looks the same but leaves a star pattern embossed on your papersome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -
I got the 2 sets to Jailhousebabe if you figure out what you are going to use the star thingy for let me know! I had a little go on paper and it is very pretty!:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0

Hi Lucy
The box is Red and it says Craft Set Co at the top and Craft Punch set at the bottom left hand corner, the front of the box is clear with the two pairs of scissors either side of the crimping machine and 2 stamps either side at the bottom. The scissors are blue and light green and the machine is mainly pink! Your OH should find this with all the other stationery bits and bobs I would say they are easy to find Hope this helps and good luck!:xmassmile Looking forward to December:xmassmile0 -

My friend's LO turns 1 this week, so hopefully I'll figure out a way to incorporate it into a birthday card. I've had a trial run with some blue and red papers and I agree, it's a lovely effect.
They were a little further along from the stationery in my store, same aisle but obviously aimed at childrensome people grin and bear it, others smile and do it0 -

Bunbun, you sound as amazed as I was that my first one looked like it should :rotfl:
I also proudly showed my first attempt to my OH and he said "what do you do with that then, what's the point of it"... men...:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
I'm even less than impressed now! We don't have any paper crimpers in our home bargains
I am still watching for them on ebay :rotfl:Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
