Went to Hobbycraft today and bought a paper crimper (£3.99) so going to have a go at making these. I've got some pretty scrapbooking paper and some Star Wars wrapping paper and going to have a go with both of these. Will report back.

So love the idea, thanks again ;)

rainmac, I'm really looking forward to seeing them, specially in the lovely papers. As you know I live in the twilight zone here and trying to get supplies for anything is a nightmare so I always have to make do and mend LOL.
I'm going to have a look on ebay and see if they have some nice papers on there.
My [strike]kids[/strike] adults like little treats for valentines and easter and halloween even though they're 21 and 17 (you'd think they'd be too old now wouldn't you) so I'm going to make some more for them.
Thanks everyone again for your nice comments, I'm so pleased you like them.

Hello lovely ladies, here are my first attempts...

    IMGP2875.jpg

The one on the left is made with pale green floral Anna Griffin scrapbooking paper and the other is Star Wars Clone Wars wrapping paper.

They were much easier to make than I thought they would be and I'm so chuffed that they look like the ones on the Spilt Coster website :D I'm going to make 8 of the green ones for table favours (going to a belated Xmas family get together at the weekend) and going to make loads (35ish ) of the Star Wars ones for my DS1's party bags for March. Was thinking of filling them with flying saucers - what do you think? Or can you think of anything else spacey/Star Wars related I could pop in?

    Thanks again everyone :D

Well done Rainmac, they look fab. I've just made one but can't post a photo as I'm at work, so only make it out of card and cellotape, to see how easy they were to make, and they are dead easy. Can I ask what size paper you cut it out to - as I tried to follow the measurements 4/5" x 5.5" and it was tiny and difficult to stick, so in the end I used half a size of A4 card. Also, sorry for the questions, where in hobby craft did you find the crimper, and do you know what the exact name of it is. I can't seem to find 'crimper' on their website and since my nearest hobbycraft is 30 miles away i'd like to call to see if they stock them before I go.

    Thanks very much

I bought a Hobbycraft own brand Paper Crimper, was in the same section as paper punches. Mine is pale blue and orange and was £3.99. There was also a Fiskars paper crimper for £14.99 in my Hobbycraft. The crimper worked better on the scrapbook paper than the wrapping paper (I guess wrapping paper is quite thin so not much for the crimper to grip onto?).

I used the same measurements as on the instruction website so did 4 and a quarter inches by 5 and a half inches. Was slightly fliddly but fine. Doing it with paper will be easier than card as it's easier to bend paper.

There are a few paper crimpers on ebay if that's easier for you to get hold of one (I was like a woman possessed in Hobbycraft yesterday - must find a crimper thing!) or I can get you one from my Hobbycraft and post to you if you want?

Thanks very much for your answers, i'll give it a go at home tonight with paper and double sided tape. Thank you for your kind offer, I'll go and have a trip to hobbycraft (any excuse to go), and if I can't manage to get one i'll pm you. Thanks again.
