suggestion, please can we have a wills forum?

hi, as posted on "anything else moneysaving" by hpiper, we really do need a wills forum. i know it is sensible to pay solicitor to do this, but i need info at the moment, hubby and i are splitting up, and don't want to rush into divorce, but how will that affect any will i make while i'm still legally married to him?

i'm sure there are a miriad of other things connected to wills that people need to ask, so thought it would be a good idea.

hope we can please!

xx

Thanks you for agreeing with me, in that a 'Wills forum', plus general information article is needed. As I said on my other posting, it seems a glaring omission. Knowing what to put, or leave out of a will, where to go, what information is needed before you write a will would be greatly appreciated. ie. how many executers should there be, how much can you give before the recipient pays inheritance tax etc, . Please help !

Definetly, would be such a help. Would be able to discuss Probate Issues, Power of Attorney etc.

I support this idea and hope that the MSE team read this thread and consider that it is something that is needed.

It may not become one of the most popular boards but I would certainly use it and have an interest in the contributions of others.

threads involving wills are usually included in the Family board
as this is a Money Saving site and a lot of the queries would be legal questions maybe this site isn't the right place for a dedicated board for wills :)

  • I'd love a wills section all on its own. My new money saving drive is trying to try to be a time saver too, so it would be quicker to track the information. Apparently some charities offer this service for a donation, which I'd prefer than the dosh going to a solicitor. Not sure which ones though - does any one know more?

I think it would be a great idea to have a Wills forum , simply because a lot of people (especailly me)are baffled by "legal talk" and having something explained would be a good way to pick up knowledge and baffle the solicitor back ! If we cant have a forum , would Martin and the Team consider an "ask the brief" question time similar to the "ask the plumber" which was enormously helpful ?
