Well it tells you that you have some out of date drivers, and which ones, but if you want pointing in the right direction where to get them from, you have to stump up.
Don't know how accurate it is..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
intel wrote:Is that a standalone app?
No it's a thin client app that does the scan and transmits your system driver data to the server which then does the database search.albertross wrote:$30 ! ........
You only have to pay if you want to get direct links to download the updated drivers. The free trial scan will still tell you which drivers you have, which are out of date and what the latest version is.
Driverguide and google are then your friends.

That PC Wizard picked up those drivers for that Old PIII machine last week
so it seems pretty good and it was onboard sound which is hard to detect drivers for.0 -
Yeah but, yeah but.....
I don't think PCW will tell you if they are the latest version or not.

Off original Topic, but I'm assuming that I haven't formatted PC as if I do a search I have found old photo's on the PC. So far I haven't looked for anything else. Should I restart installing XP again and make sure I format the drive. Will that be a fully clean install then.0

The thing to do remember if you do this you must backup impotant files
like any photos or word documents etc etc.. and use that tool in post
number 3 and make a note of all of your drivers.
Modem, Grapics Display, Motherboard Chipsets, etc etc.
Ok now if you have a proper restore disc you can do a fresh install by inserting the disc and then Boot from CD and then you can ghost an image.
If you have an OEM XP install disc you can boot from CD and when asked do a format and do a fresh install this way that will be longer to do, either way
bothwill install a fresh copy of XP.
If you choose not to format the drive you may end up installing a copy
over the original install and I think this is what has happened.
Dont forget to have a Firewall Installed before you reconnect to the net
with your ISP, also as soon as you have a firewall get some antivirus unless the fresh install will give you this aswell, as some installs give you bundled AV software.
Once you are connected I strongly reccomend your first port of
call is to get all updates, Tools Windows Update from IE.
Please try and remember your username and password for your ISP before starting this.
Also if you have trouble finding drivers one of the discs maybe a Application and Support CD that will have your PCs Drivers on.
