PC died

Options
this afternoon - not the one that pchelpman and others sorted out for me the other week though thank goodness!! I've had to do a complete reinstall of XP but now all my fonts, icons, toolbar are huge and pages don't fit properly on screen. I've altered settings in display but it hasn't made a difference. Any ideas appreciated. TIA

Have you the proper display Drivers installed.

And Right Click the desktop, Properties, Appearance, Font Size.

Try that for a start if you dont know the display card run this http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php click just under where it says latest version.
  • This is not related to your screen problem, but if it is a pre-SP2 version of windows, make sure you run windowsupdate asap, otherwise you might get wormed.. (if it is connected to the internet)

Thanks I'm already in the process of downloading 33 updates as it was pre SP2. Will check out the resolution and drivers when they've finished. Just glad we've 2 pc's so I can ask for help.
  • Did you do a format as part of the XP re-install. If you did, then as well as updating your graphics drivers you wil also need to update your chipset drivers.

Now you've got me as I can't remember :o My excuse is two grumpy teenagers who were arguing as they both couldn't be on a PC at the same time, particularly one who has lost some GCSE coursework she did yesterday.
