Aldi S/S Combination Microwave Oven £65

Got mine today from Aldi, it's stainless steel inside as well as out. After searching the web for other sellers and prices for this item, I found the identical model ( less badge ) on Marks & Spencer's website with all details including sizes, but the downside was that they sell their's for £119, also only a 2 year guarantee , where Aldi definitely gives you 3 years. Hope this helps any potential buyers.

I've quoted that for a special reason !!!
I brought mine from Aldi in Jan 06. In Jan 08, it decided to finally go faulty, even though it has been playing up for a very long time. For ages, it has ruined many a meat joint or something frozen as I would choose Defrost only for the Microwave to choose another heat setting, or one day the grill would heat a slice of bread or nuke another. Anyway, it gave up heating anything, so I contacted Medion to be told, that they don't repair them, but just replace them, so I booked delivery of a replacement & collection of the one here. I'm disabled & my cooking units consist of a 2 ringed hot plate & a toaster, with this combi oven. I get Meals On Wheels delived weekly & all I have to do is defrost & re-heat a meal when I want one, so although the oven is used daily, it's not been over used at all.

After a month passed & still no oven, (I have contacted them a few times & found out that they do not replace faulty items with new ones, but the faulty ones are repaired & then sent out as replacements, so I pitty the family that gets my oven thats been repaired) & since there are no ovens available I am offered a full refund, which I accept.

Today, I finally got to speke to a Manager, called Alex, who confirmed that there are no new ovens & I had accepted a full refund, which he will authorise when my oven has been checked over & this refund will be in the post with in 10 working days. It doesn't matter to them even though they know my story, that I have to wait over 2 months to be in a position to be able to buy another Combi oven & start Meals On Wheels again.
It may cost more money, but I won't be buying another oven that has it's warrenty covered by Medion.

That saying, you pay for what you get has turned out true this time, so buyer be aware !!!

I bought a delta combination oven form aldi 21/2 years ago and my wife thought that it was wonderful , last Thursday it went pop! Friday morning I telephoned medion service and today Wednesdays a brand new latest model arrived, how is that for service? only snag is the instructions are in German and its nothing like the old one...regards bri

Mine went down last week, called the helpline they said it would be a refund, Aldi called to day said it would only be a partial refund because makers had gone bust, told me to box it ready for collection .
So beware in future the 3 year gtee is not with Aldi but orig maker, I think buyers should be made more aware of this when a item is purchased.
