  • Hiya All

I'm not going to worry too much just yet but we were given the news on the eve of New Years Eve that my husband has lost his job

Really not sure how this is going to affect things but right now, it feels like a pipe dream to be able to make any overpayments.

As it's still only early days with this challenge (and with the job loss) I would like to stay focused but it may reach a stage where I have to think twice about taking part.

Going to keep my fingers tightly crossed that things pick up for him in 2010 :j

Here's wishing everyone a Very Happy New Year

So sorry and hope he finds something else soon

We are making our 10% yearly OP on saturday to the fixed part of our mortgage approx £5400 :D

then the rest of op's will go on the part that has no restrictions etc throughout the year hopefully at least 200 a month plus the increase in regular payments from reducing the term

Weezl mentioned on her diary about the possibility of stoozing using a mortgage instead of a savings account..........anyone done this?

Mortgage payment has gone out this morning of £830 including the 20% OP we are allowed. £437 of that is interest!!! This brings the total down to £128618.09. Cant wait to get the debt to be gone so we can save for a lump sum payment when the fixed rate ends in july 2012.

Well done everyone for all your overpayments.

First OP of £200 winging it's way into the Nationwide account. Due to unfeasably large amounts of interest being added at the end of the year (Evil Bankers, what kind of New Year cheer is that?) the total now stands at £149,195.27. Oh well, at least it's going down!

Stoozing used to be a great way of making extra cash, however with the decrease in interest rates and the increase in the charges made by credit card companies to actually do a balance transfer, it isn't now.

There is a thread (or two) about it under the credit card forum and even better https://www.stoozing.com which should give you all the answers you need (although I haven't used it for a good year or so)

Well i am not sure if i can continue making overpayments or not as I am with Northern Rock and they are restructuring the mortgages. I can log in and see my new balance :( as this has been disabled, hopefully I should find out in the next few weeks what's happening.

    Anyone in the same boat?

    Thanks
