The Mortgage Free in Three - Take 2 challenge (MFiT-T2)

  • Ooo - my ability to join the challenge is a small step closer - FINALLY managed to exchange on my current place yesterday afternoon to complete this morning, buit haven't yet exchanged on the house we're buying.

So, technically mortgage-free for the next couple of weeks (woohoo!), then it's into the monster mortgage on the life-time house for probably a ten-year-plus slog. I'll update with a target when we've exchanged/completed, so as not to tempt fate further. It will be fab when all this house move/job move stuff is finally over, the stress is ridiculous but the end is in sight!

    Good luck TTBG .

I've been thinking about my target & hope FB & Maz will allow me to give exact figure around 5th Jan - I have 3 mortgages (which is scary to me but they are still a lot less collectively than some of the scary figs on here ) . One should be around 68k then so my target will be to clear that _pale_

Great to see so many people joining. Hello everyone :hello:

Well I would have joined at the start if I'd have known we'd be in our current situation but thought the orginal MFiT would have seen an end to our mortgagesfor a while!

A moment of madness has seen us buying another house which we will hopefully be in before Christmas so I think MFiT take 2 is required!!! Not sure of our figures at yet but will let you know before the start of the challenge - just registering interest for now!

    Thanks

    MMC

PS is it too cheeky to ask to be number 114 then I will be able to remember my no as it will be 100 more than the last challenge!!!

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions regarding making a bit of extra money.

I've applied for a couple of part time jobs last week and listed lots of things on ebay. Every little helps as they say!

  • Hi,

    Mat_Money_saver_wannabe - you're 102.
    Kipper - you're 103.
    minimoocow - you're 114. #1

#1 Should we fail to get to 114, you can be last in the list at say 110 or whatever we get to, but I'm sure we'll exceed 114 within 2 to 3 weeks, based on the current rate of new recruits.

    I've just PM'd you three - you're in :D

  • Thanks, I like a challenge! Our mortgage isn't huge, but we are in the middle of renovating our house at the moment so that's where all the money goes. Hopefully we can still find a little extra to overpay the mortgage each month.
