Fuel costs are scary aren't they!
I used to be able to fill my little metro up for £20. Now I have a ford fusion and it takes £51 to fill it. Thankfully, that generally lasts me the month.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
My Ford SMax cost £93 to fill last time I filled it. That was my first time over £90 will be £100 before too long. Luckily I work five minutes from home but DH has an hours drive each way so cost of fuel is a big expense for going out to work.:j Trytryagain FLYLADY - SAYE £700 each month Premium Bonds £713 Mortgage Was £100,000@20/6/08 now zilch 21/4/15:beer: WTL - 52 (I'll do it 4 MUM)0

i don't think my petrol tank will ever be full again!Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 170 -
When I got my first Mini in 2008, a full tank cost £37. Now it costs £53 (my new Mini has the same size tank). This last about 3 weeks so not too worried at present.
I can ride my bike to work (7 mile each way) if I can't get petrol.0 -
Well my car is running on fumes at the moment. DH has a fairly full tank so we will have to use his car until there is some fuel available in our town. Thankfully, the kids break up tomorrow so we won't have to use both cars until they go back so up to 3 weeks we can cope with 1 car.
I will just have to cycle to work until I can get fuel. Not looking forward to doing that mind, I live up a massive hill and work 12.5 hour shifts on a really really busy ward .
ETA: I only came on to say that I have just updated my snowball and I have an end date of 22/04/2013. 13 more payments to go! I never thought we'd get to this point.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

I'm the same cos I have to drive a 20 mile drive each way and then use my car in work. Often I do 60+ miles in a day so fuel is a real budget killer for me
I've joined this thread for inspiration and a nosy to see how you all get along with this OP business. I'm aiming to start OP's from December this year after I get everything i need to get my house looking like home done and bought. Worked out the minimum amount to knock 5 years off the term and aim to OP at least that every month. Spoke to the mortgage company etc so I'm on a mission
Keep up the good work everyone. You all are truly brilliant at being OP experts:T0 -
Hi Pixnmix,
With a plan like that you should definitely stick around - watch out for one of the new challenges starting next January - either MFiT -Take 3, or MFW2013. I was OP'ing before I found the MSE forums / these challenges but I upped my game once I joined in and signed up.0 -
