  • Well done optimistic pair. I really wish mine would lose a £1000 without me noticing. :rotfl:

Thanks, I wish we could all do a Tommy Cooper and it would just disappear "Juss like 'at" :rotfl: It is very cheering though to see the balances of our "colleagues" spiralling, nay sometimes tumbling, down even if we can't match that speed anytime soon.
    No longer half of Optimisticpair

Spent far too much on the credit card last month (which we always pay off in full) so when that's due for payment I shall be "borrowing" money from the savings account. Quite annoyed as we usually do the grocery challenge and keep a careful eye on the credit card bill but for some reason we got a bit carried away in March.
Never mind... it's another new month....

Easy TheBees. You should start saving your money first before getting mad. I think you can pay for your credits. :A
  • You should save money now before your credits will create a high interest.

    HI everyone

Following last month's huge credit card bill, we've been really good and have only bought bare essentials this month - petrol and food! :j
The main reason for this is because DH was told a few weeks ago that he's "at risk" of redundancy. So for May we decided to spend as little as possible to prove we can live off my wages alone.

This means that for the time being we are still saving into our "Pay off the mortgage account" but there's a possibility that we may not be able to make a capital repayment if we need these savings to live off if DH does end up getting made redundant.:(

Anyway, fingers crossed it won't come to that....
Hoping to retire earlier than 67!

Along the top of the box you type in are lots of icons. The Strikethrough should be the last on the right - looks like this:

Hi guys - I had to borrow £4000 from my mum earlier this year, to reduce my mortgage in order that I could get it transferred into my sole name after OH left me......I always included that debt as part of my mortgage because it had simply shifted from bank of Halifax to bank of Mum temporarily.

Today, I was able to repay my Mum, so I am pleased to report my "mortgage" has reduced by £4000 :D

Won't be able to make any large payments like that again for some time, but am pleased to have been able to do so today.

Have a good weekend everyone x
