I know i am not going to hit my target this time, and be a bit further away than the £100 i was short last time. I am just trying to claw in a few extra bits from wherever i can to try and make it all work out the best it can.

I know you can't do everything but it would be nice wouldn't it.

I won't be green this time. I'll hopefully manage to stay in the yellow zone throughout the challenge. Looking at my snowball, it seems that I will be £2000 short of my target come 2012 but let's see what happens over the next 30 months hey? We're now at the end of our 5 year term on the mortgage so our rate is being cut ever so slightly from 5.29% to 4.99%. I doubt it will make a great deal of difference, certainly not £2000's worth!
    Keep on keeping on!
    Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.
    MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.
    2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.

Another reasonable month for us. The usual £900 payment which knocks £460 off the balance. Plus we've made about £60 of miscellaneous overpayments. With a few days to go we may knock another £20 or so off.

With another committed month in June we should colour another brick in our fridge house!!

Will probably be in the yellow on the 12th JUne, but if i report our figures as they would be at the 25th then i think we'll just sneak into the green!!! Oh the decisions...
    MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......

    Hi All

Just reporting in, I have been absent for a while sorry :o

Bad news: We haven't paid a penny off the mortgage since this challenge started (we're on IO) and since I lost my job we haven't been able to make the over payments :(

Good news: My new job starts Tuesday (can't wait!) and although the savings maybe diverted to other things (like our wedding) to start with we *should* be able to get back on track - eventually! :D

    Mortgage: Jun 08 £155300~Repayment Made: £4300~Remaining: Mar 10 £151000

Managed to do our weekly food shop £15 under-budget!! So 3/4 towards that extra £20 we were hopeful for.

Well done Gerbiljo - can't remember whose signature inspired mine but happy to have passed on the trend. There's a wandering eye issue I have which keeps leading me to focus on the December amount and then dragging my attention over the left is still frustrating - not long to go now though!

I'll be keeping an eye on your progress. I wish you the very best of luck.

    Cheers,

    Billy

TY its good to see people at other stages of the challenge on this thread! I have too long yet to look at the numbers at the end of the challenge but, I can't help having a wandering eye too! but more for the end of the year, the problem is I think about it too much so I expect it rather than getting to excited haha

right payday today so I've paid a lump off, hoping to squeeze a bit more through tho this month before the update :) (still got normal payment to come off tuesday too)
Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
Now just over 2 years we have taken on the challenge again! )(starting £237k Nov 2014) Current mortgage £232,399.82, current overpayment total £1550, years remaining= 17

    Hi Gerbiljo,

When I found this forum, I was at 70,000 and it's been a massive inspiration. Payday for us as well but I'll wait until Tuesday to pop the overpayment in as that will keep it nice and rounded. I can certainly tell you that this is the hardest part of the whole journey - our eyes are being drawn to all kinds of different things but everything is untouchable until the end of the year. Very frustrating...

    Cheers,

    Billy

Having gone that far, I think your entitled to allow yourself to look over to the right. Fantastic to be that close, good luck to you for December.

I already think about being MF and its a long way off compared to you, i think its only natural to think about the extra income you get its like a huge payrise really especially if u pay lots off a month
