  • Hi all,

Number 30 here. Google docs updated.
Current debt stands at £145083 making the percentage 13.45% and me £8572 ahead of my goal :T:T:T:T.

bad news is that me and Mrs Ging might be about to buy a static caravan for £9900 which is so typical :rotfl:.

Oh well, time to catch up again before the next date.

No 34 reporting in and updated via google docs. £66471 down to £46411! Reduction of £20060. :j Yippee! Well I have got off with a bang, but this is because of joining the challenge and therefore having the incentive to do some financial reorganising.

Most of the reduction is actually in a savings account and is therefore offsetting rather than a direct paydown. I opened a new savings account and moved spare monies into it, calling it my mortgage piggy. The plan is to use this money either when the timing seems right or at the latest, just before the end of the challenge.

At present we have a very low tracker mortgage and therefore earn more in the savings account than we pay in mortgage interest. I'm also making a small regular direct overpayment and any extra payments with spare money. So the last couple of months also include the spare council tax, water rates and £65 I saved in coins! Good luck to all the rest of you.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)
