    I've been Money Tipped!
I too used the £10 code but I was needing to do a biggish shop so used the code to get discount and I'm very grateful for the person who posted it up. Very much appreciate the efforts that people go to on this site to put up codes, info etc etc etc that enable me to get discount or goods at a lesser price than I would otherwise. Also to the people who post up freebies etc, or good loopholes etc for goods, not that I go mad on them but it's nice to get a treat of something free now and again. I think it's ashame that a minority of people abuse the codes etc etc. Like it has already been mentioned, if the codes etc are abused continuously in such a manner, small orders etc etc, Tesco or whichever other companies codes are abused, they will smell a rat and conditions seriously restricting the code or withdrawal of them or whatever or less generous codes will be given with conditions etc etc. Everyone can get a slice of the cake if they are canny about it, if they are greedy and abuse them then they will probably be withdrawn or have major conditions attached and in that case, a lot of people will lose out, not just the ones abusing the codes. So please be nice...

i agree with that tesco wouldn't stop it as they like there profits too much. but if they didn't want codes to be shared. then they would make then once only use.
i am very grateful to tesco for the codes. this is what makes me shop at tesco. as i can't get their so shopping on line is best for me. and knowing i can save points as i go, really helps when on a very tight budget

Tesco have already stopped the 150 extra points for a temp card in shops. Read here

There have been very postings saying codes have been made inactive after abuse or Tesco's have where the code came from before crediting the account.

You are the very type of person this thread is trying to help. :)

No one is saying 'don't use the codes' only use them wisely. Tesco do not profit or take custom away from competitors by delivering a couple of small and/or very cheap items. If many people abuse Tesco in this way they will clamp down and make codes on off or make us prove we are entitled to use them.
  • If Tesco ARE monitoring then can we please have a code to use for electrical goods? Treadmills in particular.

    thank you

I think that can be answered by saying that they can go the same way as Sainsburys and La Redoute (who I'm sure both like their profits too!)

Just one note on this topic, I notice the forum does not supply Sainsbury's codes at their request. It would be niave to think Tescos are not aware of this forum and could very easily ask Martin to put a ban on using the codes. So I'm with the others here, please use the codes (and others) sensibly or we'll all miss out.

I think its just a case of not taking the pee really.... I collect all the points I can - upto £155 this mailing (the cut-off date is 29th btw!) :D

i never did understand how the 150 points for a new card worked. i thought that was cheeky when i heard some people were doing this 5 or 6 times a day.

whats happened with la redoute and sainsburys then ?
  • got to agree with the original poster (though I havent read the rest of the thread - i'm too lazy heh) - may as well stock up on non-perishable stuff you'll need anyway at some point in the future. I'm a student, so these vouchers have honestly been a god-send for a convenient way of getting the cheap beans to my doorstep! haha

but yeah, just wanted to say thanks really as well - I never manage to find any bargains (and the few times I do they've already been posted - damn some people are fast!), but really appreciate everyone sharing them and all that.

nice one :) but yeah, back on-topic - no harm in ordering loads of tins/toiletries/kitchen stuff/etc. to bulk up the price a bit to keep tesco happy.

I am extremely grateful for the Tesco codes that I get from this site. I am a regular internet shopper with Tesco and have a platinum credit card with them but they never ever send me any discount codes. I have had the odd one where they have given me points off shop but I prefer the discount codes.
  • Think it's a case of perspective really. As we are all acutely aware, Tesco is not the biggest food retailer in the UK for nothing BUT even they will draw the line at open abuse and I was staggered to read that some users have ordered birthday cakes, or other small orders, using codes. Why not just send them an email telling them that you're going to rip them off - you might as well if you're going to advertise and draw attention to yourself like that.

I've just started using the online service and wouldn't dream of trying to use the codes for less than their stated value/spend limits. I'd be mortified if I got an email suspending me from using their service or deleting Clubcard points!

Tesco want our trade, but they can quite easily make it difficult for us if we start to take the proverbial. As we've seen, Sainsbury's isn't afraid to use it's legal muscle to 'encourage' the site to take a more stringent view of the posting/use of discount codes.

I suppose, technically, using the codes to obtain a discount to which you are not ENTIRELY entitled to, is fraud...

Lets keep the site available for everyone and in the spirit for which it was intended?
