    I've been Money Tipped!
I only iron on the first day of school and special occasions, i line dry 99% of the time but the art is in the hanging, I peg trousers upside down so legs dry fairly uncreased.

Shake and fold straight away, then leave in neat piles for a few hours.

  • What's this thing you call ironing?:rotfl:

I don't iron. I hate it, mainly because I'm rubbish at it. I bought an iron and an ironing board 3 years ago when I bought my place, but they're still in the original packaging... :embarasse:D

My neighbour irons my work shirts for me (payment in wine :D) and the rest - I don't really care, to be honest. I hang stuff up asap once the washing machine is done and I don't have a TD. Bedlinen etc will only get crumpled anyways, so there's no chance of me ever ironing those.

Now, if I could just muster some satisfaction in hoovering, doing dishes, dusting and cleaning, then I'd live in a palace :rotfl:
Call me what you like, I was a bit "tiddly" when I chose my username

    I own a Hangaway http://www.lakeland.co.uk/2180/Hangaway

Its' one of the best things I have ever bought as I hang things up that are wet/nearly dry and they dry crease free. Seriously, I haven't used my iron in over a year!

i haven't read through all post so am sorry if this is repeated.

I never iron, once the clothes have finished in the washer take them straight out and give a good shake before putting them on the line or airer so the creases fall out, any creases that might be left in fall out very shortly after putting them on with the body heat.

I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I take my washing out of the machine as soon as it finishes - peg it straight out on the line - giving it a good shake first, make sure that I peg it neatly. Then when it's dry I fold it neatly in the basket. But everything always needs ironing. I would love to know how you all do it. Even the odd times that I use the dryer - I take them out straight away, but again everything still needs ironing!

I detest ironing, but I would rather spend 2 hours ironing than 10 minutes putting clothes away - that I really really hate, strange I know!

Well, folding them I find makes clothes really creased. I hang everything up when almost dry for a day or two, till bone dry and then fold up and put away.

Also, I "tug" on clothes I know are more likely to be creased to stretch out the creases. IE - jeans, I'll hold the waist hard, grab the knee and yank. Then hold the knee, and yank the hem.

I've just changed from a top-loading washing machine with a 600 spin to a European tumbly type with a 1200 spin. The first week I had it I was unable to leave the house for the piles of ironing, where previously I had only two or three items a week!

I've found by turning the spin down to 800 or 1000, using a good conditioner and pulling/shaking into shape before hanging I'm back to ironing almost nothing:j

I like ironing BUT I hate putting it away....so if you live near me, I'll do your ironing in return for you putting mine away :rotfl:
