im glad this is sorted would of hated to think £30 a month was going down the drain!!

Did you explain what the actual problem is - i.e are they aware this isn't accidental damage?0 -

Not sure if post re knocking over TV was a joke....
nor am I
but it's the only way the tv is going to be replaced under home contents insurance.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
I'd also add that £360 a year for home and contents is pretty expensive. renewing mine is going to cost me £230 (4 bed semi in ST5), before shopping around.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0

i am paying £30 i have insurance that covers everything that why it is so expensive i told them what has happened and they seem for sure it will be replaced they just need to see the size of the screen and the damage so i have not lied in any way shape or form!!!!you cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0

I'm not so sure about that.
I pay £440 which is highly competitive for the cover I have.
I think it depends on
build value
contents value
accidental buildings cover
accidental contents option
legal option
level of valuables
level of single item limit
feezer cover option
bicycle option
personal possession option and level
etc.
I think it's one of the most complicated covers to arrange because of all the options.
I don't think it's possible to say something is expensive unless you understand all the options.
I always shop around mercilessly for mine and £440 is very good for the high level of cover I have (for example £5K single item limit).they just need to see the size of the screen and the damage so i have not lied in any way shape or form!!!!
This is rather confusing.
Now you are talking about "damage".
Was the screen damaged in an accident or is it caused by a breakdown.
I'm sure you haven't lied deliberately but the words you are using are certainly confusing me and may lead others to a wrong conclusion.
If something has been damaged there has been some sort of accident.
I initially inferred that the circles were simply an electronic failure and breakdown int he equipment.
Can you clarify?0 -

it was an accident my kids were messing around and my 19 month old had thrown a toy at the screen purely through excitement playing with my 5 year old!!
since the screen was hit it has not worked properly with the colour circles and the glass has not smashed but definatly wierd i dont know how to explain it other that its not right i have a old for new altho my tv is only 15 months old bought newyou cant change yesterdaybut you can make tomorrow better0 -
You have no chance
And that is one strong 5 year old you have there if they can throw things hard and high enough to seriously damage a TV
hmmmmm0 -
They can, but I get the feeling that there has been a bit of a story change.
They way the TV is described as 'broken' in the first post simply doesnt match how you would describe damage to it by kids.0 -

You are not paying that much money for the policy, and it most certainly does not cover everything. If you think it does, I would seriously suggest reading your policy booklet.0
