            house insurance?
Does it cover things like this? I wouldn't have thought so, have you checked your policy?
if it's covered, just make sure you hold onto it until they send someone out.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
What insurance do you refer to?0

How long have you had it?
What insurance do you have?
You will have some statutory right in addition to any warranty.
If you can't find the receipt then could you locate the credit card/debit card statement?
It's highly likely you will need proof of purchase but a statement may well suffice.0 -

I'd be tempted to knock it over then.
check to see what could come out though.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
Household insurance will not provide cover for this. If you are within the warranty period or have an extended warranty then you should be all right. How long have you had the TV?I have retired from a career in Financial Services........Thank God. Any advice given may be as a result of senile dementia so dont take it too seriously.......

It is not an accident it's a breakdown.
Household cover provides cover for perils like fire, flood, theft etc. and in some cases accidental damage and does not cover breakdown.
You may be coevred by a manufacturers warrnaty OR by the sales of goods act (your legal rights) but we really need to know how old the TV is.
If it's within 12 months then it's most liekly a warrnaty claim.
If it'srelatively new but outside of 12 months then you can fight for your legal rights.
If it's a few years old, then tough, you need to replace or repair yourself.0 -

they'll be sending someone to check the tv exists and that it's broken.
what details did you give them with regard to the tv and it's damage?Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -
Sounds like you are wasting your/their time - as other posters say, there is no cover for breakdowns on an accidental damage policy.
Unless you are going to assert that the damage was caused by an accident when it wasn't, i.e. make a fraudulent claim.
Not sure if post re knocking over TV was a joke....0
