Hi I asked Bt for my mac code to move to sky They offered to lower the price but sky were still cheaper but then they called me the next day and offered me line rental, boadband (I am on option 2) free evening and weekend calls for £14.30 total. So looks like I am staying on for another 12months
Unless I'm mistaken Sky's prices include VAT whereas BT price their stuff and then add VAT to the bill.
If that is correct you'll be paying BT £16.45 whereas, as annie says, Sky would be £10 line rental, free e&w calls and free base BB. If you took the mid BB that would add another fiver but still, I think, be cheaper than BT.
Check back with BT about whether VAT is included before you sign up.

    Well... It's all good!

My broadband switched yesterday. So when I got home last night, I did this:

    1. Unplug old router
    2. Plug in new router
    3. Switch on new router
    4. Using laptop, scan for wireless networks
    5. Select my Sky network (they give you a card with the network name and your security key on it)
    6. Enter security key
    7. Internet!!!

All in all, took about ten mins and most of that time was untangling the old cables. :D

If you've already been using wireless with your previous provider, ignore all of Sky's set up instructions. I didn't use their installation CD as I don't like putting unneccessary software on my laptop. I didn't use a cabled connection first before going wireless.

It's all good. And my BT and Pipex accounts (for phone and internet) are cancelled/being cancelled so final bills are on their way.

    *breathes a sigh of relief*

No problem Sarah - hope your switch goes smoothly.

Discovered last night that my downloads now run at 440kbps instead of 125kbps when I was with Pipex! Bonus. :D
