I've just made another payment and got the same email again, surely it's got to be a fault at their end.
  • I got this email last night, and fired off a spoof@paypal email, I got a reply this morning saying this wsn'tsent by paypal:

'Thank you for bringing this suspicious email to our attention. We can confirm that the email you received was not sent to you by PayPal. The website linked to this email is not a registered URL authorized or used by PayPal.

We are currently investigating this incident fully. Please do not enter any personal or financial information into this website.

So, I guess they are having some kind of major security problem or something.

Or is it a glitch in their own system and the responses people are getting are automated. I feel so safe... Either a: they sending out automated responses to our safety questions, which means do they ever read what you email them? or b: the 'safe method of paying online' has been majorly compromised and there are evil people out there who know my bank details, name, address, spending history, whatever.

So I'm guessing it is a glitch and they just don't care.

    *sigh*

Yesterday morning I received an email from paypal confirming I had added a new address to my account. As the address being quoted was mind anyway, I did not think much of it.

So far this morning, in the space of 20 minutes, I have received 5 emails from paypal, all saying the same thing.

I am going to try emailing them and find out what is going on.

I have, just to be on the safe side, also changed my paypal and ebay paswords.

    Any ideas?

Exactly the same thing happened to me on Sunday. I had just paid for something with Paypal and this email came along with another showing confirmation of payment. Must be a glitch.

I'm not going to be using PayPal for a while then
  • I've had three or four of these over the last week - each time it has happened automatically as I've been paying for an item on ebay. I've ignored each one, I'm wondering if it is a glitch their end as the email comes through literally as I am making the payment.

I did change the end date of one of my debit cards on my account this month and on the old card, it would have been my old address registered with it , although paypal have my new address now, I just wondered if it was something to do with that......actually though, it can't be , as I'm paying for stuff with funds which are already in my paypal account.

I think it might be a glitch, i might go back into my email account to see if I've got any of the emails to see what the address is on them.
