Well in the old days my Dad shared a BED with 5 Brothers let alone a room! I imagine they'll cope just fine & congratulations!0

The children could have the 2 bedrooms and you and your OH could get a sofa bed for downstairs?
That's just an idea, but doable
We're gonna have to have a shifty around soon if we are still where we are. (3 bed semi) Baby is due in May, son will be 13 then and daughter will be 11. Cot will be in our room for a year or so, but there is no way I'd have one of the kids share a room with a baby/toddler. They need their privacy and space so it looks like we will have to turn the dining room into a bedroom for us.
God knows how my Grandparents coped years ago with 14 of them in a 2 up 2 down, eek!!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

This is what I've done.I already had 3 children 15 year old and 9 year old sons and an 11year old daughter.I had another boy last may and in reality,I'll take the front room on a sofa bed and let the kids have the bedrooms as there is no room in the boys room and by the time he needs his own space there is no way he can share with my daughter.:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
Get a shed off freecycle.
Insulate it really really well
Put a strong lock on it (internally)
Connect up power to it and ensure broadband wireless can be had
Get some running water from the garden hose and a wind up radio
Lock yourself in and stay there till the kids move out
The 18 years will fly by.0 -

My Aunt bought a two bed house and the previous owner had three children. All the children slept in the biggest bedroom and the parents slept in the smaller bedroom.
My Aunt wanted to sleep in the bigger bedroom and had to put up with dinosaur wallpaper until she got round to decoratingHere I go again on my own....0 -
Congratulations!
Our three teenage boys share quite a small room. Keep the clutter to a minimum and try to persuade the grannies and relatives not to buy MASSIVE presents for birthdays or christmas.
They all get on really well, enjoy each others company and have learned to share and respect each others space.0 -
Just discovered that I am pregnant with my 3rd child, was a huge shock as I had a minera coil (it seems to have gone awol at some point).
Now the dilemma, we can't really afford to buy a bigger house, we hadn't been planning on it since the recession hit. We are comfortable where we are in a rather small 2 bedroom mid terrace house. Front and back garden, nothing special but it keeps us warm.
Can we fit 3 kids in one room? Does anyone do this at the moment and does it work? DS1 is 7 and DS2 is 3.
We can possibly convert the loft into another bedroom but again, it's all about the cash.
I would assume your children would perfer your love that you share than a big room with all the toys in the world!!0 -
You could do bunk beds and then a toddler bed/cotbed/child's bed from ikea, which will do up until age 5-7 depending on his height and the brand, giving you the chance to get into a better financial situation to either convert the loft, or move somewhere bigger.I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right0

When our 3rd was born, we were in a similar situation.
We tried all sorts of 'room shuffling' but resorted to giving up our bedroom to the kids and me and DH camped out in the living room!!
For about 12 months till we moved house, we slept on a matteress on the floor that was hidden during the day and only came out at bed time. And I have to say, we loved every minute of it!!!
Once the kids were in bed, we'd set up camp in the living room and snuggle in 'bed' watching tv etc  ......0
