Change it yes but the OP sounded like she wanted to remove the name altogether and not have one. I may be wrong of course.

I think you can by leaving the value blank.

I think, I will leave it, do not want to mess things up. It's the name that's so annoying. it's my son's name.

That is so easy Just log in your account, then Start, Control Canel,
Then click on User Accounts and in there...

Or an even easier way, Click Start, Now Click the Picture, By your Name
and picture on the Start Menu. Seee below picture.



Then click the back Arrow under user accounts.

Now Click on Change my name.

If you want to Change someone elses accounts name you will have to change their account type tp Admin.............

If you cannot remember an account password you can get around that by..
