How do I change the 'Registered to' name on a PC?

I bought a PC off a relative just before Xmas; everything that comes up with a name (ie MS Office, the PC itself, etc) has my relative's name on. How can I change it to my name? It's not harming anything, I just find it annoying.

Open up regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion, modify RegisteredOwner key to the new name.0

I've got as far as 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion' but can't see where the Modify registered owner' part is
Thanks for your help! :beer:I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
If you just click once on 'CurrentVersion' folder, then on the right panel RegisteredOwner is listed there. You need to right click on RegisteredOwner and select Modify.0

Thanks from me too !!
I've often wondered how to do that on my laptop recently acquired (legally of course). Now I've got to check all those questions on wireless routing etc etc.0 -
I don't believe it. I've spent 3 years trying to do that since I bought an ex-display pc from staples.
Thanks.0 -

I did search google but never thought of searching for 'change registered owner' or something similar.
I know it seems blindingly obvious now. It was only when I noticed the title of this thread a light bulb popped on in my head. doh!0
