I really liked The Ugly Truth, and I usually dislike rom-coms. (I laughed approximately zero times in The Proposal*). Katherine Heigel is really likeable.

*Sandra Bullock looks too much like Michael Jackson, it distracts me.

Can anyone tell me if you need to bring ID to the showings or if they even check your name? Its been nearly a year since ive been to any free screenings and just unsure about a few things as i remember reading at the time they were considering giving cinemas a list of names to be due at the screening. A few times i genuinely had tickets but had to leave due to screenings being full.
  • You are supposed to take ID with you but I've never been asked for it.

In fact, at the screenings I've been to they've barely glimpsed at my print out ticket.

I've been lucky enough to see 12 films since finding this thread and I've only been asked for ID once and that was to see Bruno, it was thought that they'd check ID there so I made sure I took my driving licence with me.

I was asked to provide it tonight - NO problem

The couple of women in front of us couldn't and were turned away.

I think they didn't produce ID that matched the name on the ticket, and the woman that offered the "ticket" wasn't at all happy. Tough as far as I'm concerned.

SFF tell you often enough and what is the problem in following the rules ?
    Hardly an inconvenience.

Your last issue could well be down to ID NOT being checked ... with some SFF printouts being duplicated and used more than once !

My name has been checked against a list on 7 or 8 occasions.

think i must be one of the few that didn't like the ugly truth and I normally love rom-coms. Just bored me tbh - wasn't particularly funny and was just predictable.

I'm with you on this one! I loved the Proposal and actually had wanted to see this one more than that - which really annoyed me! I found Gerrad Butlers American accent appauling (was that what it was meant to be??). The jokes weren't funny and it was crude for crudeness sake. There was no change in either of the characters at the end it was just crazy. Could rant about how dreadful bits of the script were but would give too many spoilers!

Really wouldn't recommend this to anyone!!!
