Just rung CS and had my order double checked and confirmed. The lady told me the screen is saying delivery by the 16th Feb for my wardrobe and that delivery guys would ring before hand to confirm. I asked her directly if there were any stock problems and i was told No everything was fine and the wardrobe will be despatched. I placed my order on sunday and after reading all the posts i can only guess they appear to be willing to honour all orders placed on sunday. Everything from monday onwards , when they reaslised the mistake, will be given the 'out of stock ' story. I may be wrong but it does only appear to be the sunday people hearing anything positive. Fingers crossed it does actually arrive. :rolleyes:

Yep, I think this is definitely the case, as I ordered mine on Monday morning and I received the dreaded "out of stock and won't be getting any more in" email yesterday

Oh well, as an earlier poster said, you win some and you lose some.

Hi, I ordered my Wardrope on Sunday and then received ane-mail at 10:11 confirming my order. I then received an e-mail on Tuesday confirming my delivery date for the 15th February (as below)

I phoned Debenhams and to cut a long story short they are not going to let me have the wardrobe although they would give me a 20% discount off the price of another that i ordered.

I am not sur how many people ordered these but it does not look like most of us will be getting them.

I will be writing to there customer services manager as the also took the money fro my account.

Lisa not your fault, it was good of you to post this thread i tried to to get two ordered one on sunday one on monday they took the money out and put it back in for one, and also have taken money out for the other one but not put it back so dont if i am to get one or not? as anyone got the number of c/s so i can check with them please!!

I was living in hope until today - as I had not heard anything after the initial message telling me that delivery would be in 7 - 10 days. The letter arrived today - out of stock, my account would be credited. Oh well I have had lots of bargains from Boots! Thanks Lisa for the bargain prompt!

Can anyone clarify something for a newbie?

I heard from a co-worker that once your account is debited (as mine was, for one of these wardrobes) the contract between debenhams and myself is legally binding? Surely if this is the case they are obliged to supply the goods or be obligated to supply an alternate product of equal value?

Apparently the person who advised me on this bought something from LXdirect which was shown in stock in error and he argued that the company had entered into a legally binding contract to supply the said goods. They agreed to send him a similar (slightly more expensive) item instead?

Let me apologise in advance if I am totally in the wrong or have wasted anyones time. Just thought I would pass on something that I heard!

I also ordered the wardrobe on that sunday.All I got was the order received e-mail.I didn't phone or e-mail back,I thought I'd wait and see.Letter this a.m (invoice)they will deliver by 14th Feb. Can't belisa it ,what a bargain.Hope it nice though.Irony
